Sad and Extremely Disappointed

I was shocked at the uncaring and unprofessional process of receiving claims. I have been a member since 2000 and have had a number of issues with very low amounts provided to me for different claims. I have called and spoken with supervisors but this last one was so heartbreaking I do not even want to put myself through this stress. My dog was hospitalized, had tests and x-rays along with IV fluids then without any change in his condition, had to be euthanized. The amount of my claim was $1,200 and they had the nerve to process the claim for a mere $145. I am disgusted with this company and if there are animals in my future, you can be sure I will never use this company again and I will let everyone know in the large dog community I belong to on social media, just how bad they really are. Judging from the reviews I have seen, I know I am not the only one that feels this way. Hopefully they will be out of the business soon so they cannot rip others off as they have done to me.

Nationwide makes you work hard for your refunds and puts up some unexplicable road blocks in the process.

I have 4 pets under Nationwide. On some claims, it is fairly easy to file and get reimbursed. But on more expensive claims, the process slows down and requires multiple follow-up calls to find out what is causing the delay --often needing additional info. When I tried to upgrade coverage on one of my cats, I was denied because she had been give a probiotic supplement for a two week period a year ago to stop diarrhea. She has no health issues and yet better coverage was denied. It can be very frustrating working with them. My vet has had to send appointment notes to them multiply times before they recognize that they do in fact have the info. Is this any better at other companies?

Best Pet Insurance Around

I've had Beaubear insured with (formerly VPI) Nationwide since he was 4 months old; he is now 11 years. Beau is a mischief maker and if there is any trouble to get into, he will find it. This company has been there for us all these years with wonderful support; they are always willing to go the distance and their claims processing is fast and user friendly. I don't know what I would have done without them. They are the best!
