Reliable, if a bit confusing
Accepted claims could do with more information about whether your deductible has been met, how many claims you've had in the current fiscal year, and when the fiscal year ends. Having two pets insured by you, it's not always obvious why I'm getting reimbursed for one claim and not the other.

Nationwide claim services and their supplemental Vet Helpline are top notch!
Nationwide has a very user-friendly claims form and submission process. I can track my claim status in addition to the email updates I receive. I have never been surprised by not receiving expected compensation and on top of it, their Vet Helpline is a wonderful supplemental service I have used several times. I've been with Nationwide for almost 8 years and am a big fan.

super simple and no fuss in processing
When a small bump appeared inside my weiner dog's (Julio) ear I figured it'd be best to keep an eye on it. Over night it nearly doubled in size and that's when my wife and I knew it was something that couldn't wait. Thankfully our wonderful vet was able to get Julio in for surgery that morning so that we could scope and run tests. We're just as thankful for having the support of the animal lovers at Nationwide because making sure your pup is in top shape isn't always cheap, but it certainly helps you to rest easier at night. Great news: insurance offset most of the cost AND our lil guy came home with a clean bill of health!

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage.
The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees.
All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.
Payout Limits
Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances.
There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.
Deductible
Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000.
Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.
Age Limits
No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.
Other plans may have age restrictions.
Waiting Period
14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months).
Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
