Nationwide is amazing!

Nationwide continues to exceed expectations. They even follow up after a claim to check in and see how your pet is doing. Filing a claim is easy. You file it through the app, take a few pictures of the receipts and visit, and then submit. You even get reimbursed direct deposit to your bank account. I’ve seen them reimburse a claim in as little as 2 weeks!

So happy that I have pet insurance!!

One of the very best things I have ever done was to get pet insurance for my Berner, Bodhi. We have just been down the rabbit hole and back with lab tests, procedures and medications, and without the insurance, it would have been a financial hardship as well as an emotional one. I appreciate Nationwide!

Excellent Pet Insurance Program

We have used Nationwide Pet Insurance (formerly VPI) for our kitties since 2004. We have been very pleased with their coverage plans, and the coverage has been extremely helpful over the years. The monthly payments are reasonable. You never know when you are going to “get into a cluster” with a pet - even when they are very young, sometimes, stuff happens. While you hope to not find yourself in that situation, it sure gives peace of mind to know you can say ‘yes’ to advanced treatment, and not have to pay all of it out of pocket - that help is there. I recommend this company all the time to those who ask - “do you have pet insurance?” Thank you!

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
