I have been so happy with this insurance for my kitty since day one. No issues ever! And nothing but helpful. I haven't ran into anything that they wouldn't help with so far. I've had the insurance for over 5 years now. Nico is in good hands!

You guys are the best!
The best thing I ever did was take out insurance on my two dogs, and it has certainly paid off! I can’t believe how quick and easy and fantastic this whole ordeal is, and when you have a sick doggie, you want someone on your side who’s going to take care of your bills and give you peace of mind. That’s exactly what I have with nationwide. I have now been recommending it to my vet who said sometime they are asked what kind of insurance is best, and I told them definitely nationwide. If you could send me some of your cards, I will make sure the vet puts them out. Thank you thank you thank you.

It's nice to not worry about going to the vet.
Our dog, Layla, is a good, overall healthy pup, but she has had some random setbacks that have caused us to see some pretty hefty vet bills in the first few months of her life. First a UTI that she had trouble shaking, and then a tooth that grew in funny (so funny, in fact, that the vet had never seen anything like it). After that bill, I decided to ask my HR about the pet insurance they provided through Nationwide. It has been a wonderful experience ever since. We take her to get her heartworm medicine and flea medicine, and anytime something comes up (like an especially gunk filled eye), we don't worry about taking her because we know that just about everything is covered. The deductible was not hard to get to, because as I said, Layla isn't an ill dog, she's just got some random weird incidents that have caused us to raise an eyebrow at our vet bills, and while you do have to pay out of pocket at the vet, it's very easy to send in a claim right away and they reimburse you in about a month. My only complaint would be that when I filed my first claim or two, I had some trouble finding the claims paperwork to fill out. But now that I've done it a few times, it's fairly simple. I've never experienced any kind of problem where they didn't want to pay, and everything is always straightforward. Overall, I would definitely recommend it, especially if you find yourself going to the vet for the most random things. They do restrict on some things, like if they decide your dog has a pre-existing condition, they won't cover things under that. But if your dog is healthy for an extended period of time and doesn't have any incidents with what they've decided is pre-existing, I believe you can provide them with your dog's medical records again and ask for the pre-existing condition to be removed. We will be doing that sometime soon (the UTI got marked as a pre-existing condition for bladder problems) and I will know for sure. But for the past six months, it has been very nice not worrying about going to the vet.
