Great insurance company

I have 3 dogs. So you know how many claims I am submitting. Met Life is everything I expected. Customer service helped me with my first submissions. Once you understand their system, everything is a go. I don't think people understand 10-15 days is business days not calendar.. Payment is easy after setting up how you want to receive payment. Thank you Met Life. It takes a lot of worry off me if something goes wrong. The only thing I wish is, a way for Met Life to pay vet at time of visit, so its not such a hard hit on the pocket.

I am very happy with this insurance I like the way they process it right away and send me a check. Very happy that I joined MetLife pet insurance.

Great Service

For a reasonable price, MetLife Pet Insurance has paid the claims for my 12-year old cat in a timely manner and has made possible the diagnostic work and treatment he needs.

First Claim Processed - Easy and Fast

I had another insurance previous to this and this claim was easy to process and easy to get reimbursment. Must better experience.

Don't do what they say or respond to contact.

I paid for my policy in one, annual payment and deeply regret it. As per their website: Claims may take up to 10 days to process. I submitted my first claim on 3/4/24. It is now 3/18/24 and it has not been processed. Regardless of what time I click on the chat box on their website, it states I have contacted them outside of business hours. I submitted two messages through their contact form with no response.

Pulling Teeth Without the Fun

I adopted my Dogs at the local humane society and they were pushing MetLife Pet insurance with their welcome packet. I knew insurance was a good idea so I got a decent plan and thought I was good. Wrong, filing anything and trying to get a correct "Explanation of Benefits" where they detail how they "honor" your vet charges is like pulling teeth. Had a scare on the first week where one dog decided to eat a leather toy at night and had an ER trip and the filing was awful. I gave the entire adoption history with the vet notes and they denied the claim because I was missing 6 years of medical history on a dog I adopted 2 weeks ago. Not to mention the company is setup so you cant actually contact anyone on the claims team who could simply correct the the fumbled information, you have to contact a dedicated customer service rep. who can email the claims team for you and "contact" you in a week when they hear back or you have to fill out an appeal form that has your vets signature and stamp on it (yes a stamp.) Sure, one time would be bad but its like the claims team is either toddlers or is in India because they cant report the right vet visit dates or read the receipts that say what the vet has or has not prescribed. I think they have fallen to a new level of dysfunction and I'm joining a new company at the end of my plan. PET OWNERS BEWARE 2024.
