Claims make your premiums skyrocket

Healthy Paws has always been fair with price and service for 7 years, until I had 2 claims for my Standard Poodle 2 years ago. He is 12 years old and the surgery and care saved his life, but after filing a claim his premium went from $70 a month to $100 then a year after that to $180 a month. I now have a dog I cant afford the insurance payments for that will not get coverage anywhere else. Healthy Paws was happy to keep my premium low while I had no claims, but once I needed the insurance they made sure I wouldn't keep it.

Healthy Paws has been amazing with coverage and reimbursement

Over the past several years my dog Shiloh has had multiple surgeries related to the growth of Mast Cell tumors as well as TPLO surgery last August. HEALTHY PAWS PET INSURANCE has been amazingly supportive. Their coverage and quick reimbursement has been a tremendous help in Shilohs health care

They keep increasing premiums

Fortunately we didn't have to submit any claims, but they keep increasing prices as your dog ages. Not small amount 20% every time.

Super easy claim process

I adopted my kitten from a shelter last year and was provided a free month of pet insurance. I have never had pet insurance on my dogs, so I didn't know a lot about it. I did a bunch of research and decided to go with Healthy Paws. I honestly didn't think I'd use the insurance since my cat is so young, but a year and a half later she developed painful bladder stones which required expensive surgery. The Healthy Paws claim process was super easy, they reached out to my vet for additional records (saving me time), and my invoices were all approved. It was so easy and a huge relief that she could get the best care possible and I didn't end up with thousands of dollars in bills.

Not customer friendly if you are not very computer competent

I need to change the card we use to pay our bill. I can't figure out how to do this. I tried calling and was told I can now only do this on the computer. This was not the case in the past. I am not sure how to do this. We have had this insurance for about six years and communication is difficult. Every year I email the report from the vet for my dog's routine checkup. This year I received a couple of responses referring to the routine checkup information as a claim. I never got a confirmation that you filed the information about the dog's annual checkup which is supposed to be on file to prove he is getting his routine care and vaccinations. I could really use some better customer service. Too many things are unclear and I am not a knowledgeable computer person. As far as a recommendation I think it depends on how comfortable you are with the computer. Thank you.
