Healthy Paws came through for us during an extremely scary time.

We have a Pug, and he was having an increasingly difficult time breathing, could not handle any heat or much exercise (even though he is young and at a very healthy weight), and oftentimes would gag or throw up from exertion. We discovered that Max's breed is prone to having these types of issues because of his breed, i.e. a hereditary condition. I Reviewed our insurance Healthy Paws policy and found that it did, in fact, cover hereditary conditions, but I was still unsure if the surgery would be covered. Our Max had the surgery, and the next day I submitted a claim. it was approved by the end of the day and we were reimbursed within 48 hours! I was happily shocked by how easy it was to submit the claim and how quickly we were reimbursed. I will be completely honest, I do feel like the monthly payment for our policy was a bit high and has increased 2x I believe, but I am so grateful that I purchased it and kept it through those increases and I will continue to be a Healthy Paws customer indefinitely.

Heartfelt Recommendation

The Greatest review I can make is that we have had Healthy Paws for YEARS. We have had a pretty healthy dog and have only had a few minors claims over the years. This past year we discovered our pup had cancer. After a major surgery that would have cost us about $12K healthy paws reimbursed us before we even received the credit card statement for all but about $1,200. Without Healthy Paws we would have been preparing to say goodbye to our dog. For the time we have been gifted with our girl, we will forever be grateful!

A Heartfelt Recommendation

We have Healthy Paws Pet insurance for years. We were fortunate to not have to make any major claims in the past. This year we discovered that our dog has cancer and after numerous test, the vet was confident that surgery was in the best interest of our dog. Her surgery would have cost about $12K. There is absolutely no way we could have afford this surgery without Healthy Paws. Instead it cost us about $2K. It is because of Healthy Paws that we have been gifted with more time with our dog. We will be lifelong customers and advocates

Great coverage at a low monthly price.

Healthy Paws recently covered my dog's leg surgery. They were quick with response time and the claim went from submission to benefits declaration within about a week, including the Easter Holiday. I've been impressed with their customer service and the ease of website navigation. Their monthly premium is also very reasonable compared to other pet insurance companies out there.

Monthly Cost

$15 – $80, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.

Coverage

One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more. You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.

Deductible

You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750* *Choice depends on age of the pet

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
