Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

Healthy paws has been there every step of the way from the first day my 7 year old yorkie named Nami was diagnosed with an inoperable cancerous tumor in June of 2022. Healthy Paws has never denied or even questioned the radiation and ongoing chemotherapy treatments. They are very easy to file my claims through and usually reimburse my account within 4/5 days after filing my claim. I recommend 100% for all pet parents to choose Healthy Paws, without them I would be financially unable to afford Nami’s treatment plans. Healthy Paws is a wonderful insurance company. My dog has needed 3 surgeries over the past 4 years and the one thing I never have to worry about is the support from Healthy Paws. Not only is their reimbursement process lighting fast, but they reach out after major health events in your animals life to check on them and YOU. Can't recommend this company enough.

We have had Healthy Paws insurance on both of our dogs since they were puppies and are very happy with them. Our 6 yr dog was recently and very unexpectedly diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer and told that w/out cancer treatments he might only be around another few months. Luckily, thanks to having Healthy Paws and their great cancer coverage we have been able to get him the treatments he needs. They have been extremely quick with the reimbursements also, which makes a big difference when you're already dealing with so much emotional and financial stress. I also appreciate how easy and quick it is to submit a claim.

Terrible experience with Healthy Paws. They basically make it as inconvenient as possible to get a decision about a claim as you keep paying the premium. I submitted records multiple times via the app and ultimately had to sit on the phone and email records for each dog to the customer service representative. I then had to read the records to her because she kept trying to say she didn't see a date on the medical record that was clearly on the medical record. After much time and effort I finally got the claim submitted that I had submitted a couple months before but they continually claimed they needed records for. Then they denied the claim I submitted for an antibiotic claiming that it was part of a wellness visit and that all that was on the claim was a receipt for anal glands. So now I have to spend more time appealing the decision because of their incompetence. I was only submitting the documents to have on record for future because these claims did not even meet the deductible. If it's this difficult to get claims just applied to deductible and they aren't actually having to pay anything I can't imagine having to file something they have to actually pay for. I pay way too much monthly for it to be this time consuming and difficult just to file a claim. I can just save the money and have it available in case it's needed instead of having to deal with them. I would not recommend the company. I would recommend just saving the money that you would be paying this company monthly instead of paying them to create more headaches for you if you ever actually need their services. In response to the company reply: They can't find me in the system because I cancelled my account after leaving this review. I do not need to spend further time speaking to or emailing with customer service when this could have easily been handled over the past several months while the issues were ongoing and I expressed my frustrations directly to your representatives. This review was simply to let others know my experience. Hopefully they have a better experience than I did if they choose this company.

I want to say that healthy paws is the absolute best pet insurance around. I looked into many and they are the most reasonable and cover the most without out of pocket maximums. Thank you for making this available to all of us for patients when we need it most!!!!
