Koa is a purebred, chocolate, Labrador Retriever and was diagnosed with bilateral elbow dysplasia (something according to text books only occurs in 10% of Labradors). Healthy Paws has been there for us since the beginning and will be with us till the end. When I was researching pet insurance over a year ago my first question was, "do I need it?" Then, "what company do I go with?" I wanted a company that sounded like they care about animals and you can't get any better than, "Healthy Paws." Next I wanted a company that was easy to understand, user friendly and answered their phones. Lastly, the cost, affordable plans with reasonable deductibles, (3 out of 3). As for Koa and his elbow issues, he's in the recovery phase and Healthy Paws paid out on everything they said they would, expediently! They also check in from time to time to see how Koa is doing :-)

Simply the BEST insurance for your pet
Our beloved Vizsla was recently diagnosed with the ailment I feel most pet lovers dread the most: cancer (in her case, a mast cell tumor). It was particularly devastating because 3 years ago, we lost our Weimaraner to an aggressive form of the same cancer. In his case, a different insurance company did nothing but argue with us over every detail, leaving us with over $7K in uncovered bills. When we re-homed our Vizsla, we were armed with all the facts to help prevent this disease. Unfortunately, we had no control over her previous owner's antiquated approach to "good health" which included massive over-vaccination and a poor quality commercial kibble. Besides, these breeds are pre-disposed to mast cell, and no one really knows the root cause. With Healthy Paws, we were able to take her to a top veterinary oncologist, and to follow up with an outstanding surgeon. Throughout this ordeal, we at least had the peace of mind knowing we could give her the best care without undue financial burden. True to their word, Healthy Paws reimbursed us 90% of the costs in a timely fashion. Any time I called to inquire about claim status, they were friendly and efficient, and helped us to get our thousands of dollars in reimbursement quickly. They even sent an email asking us how she was doing. We got lucky this time...our girl's cancer did not metastasize, and her oncologist feels she will live out her normal lifespan. Given our previous experience with another insurer, I have only rave revi

Best decision we ever made!!
Our dog Grace started eating grass and vomiting and then the bloody runs started. We took her to her vet and after xrays, blood tests, and various tests the vet decided she may need surgery. They could not take care of this at her vet so we were sent to an emergency hospital. She was examined and more xrays, sonagrams and blood. This doctor decided to be a bit more cautious. They decided to wait to see if she improved with medication. She was in the hospital for 2 days. She responded to meds. Thank goodness. When we picked her up we reminded the vet that we had medical insurance. They took our claim form and sent it off to Healthy Paws. Her first vet did the same. Healthy Paws processed this claim so quickly and efficiently. We recieved emails checking on Grace's progress. We are happy to say she is well and we are extremely happy with Healthy Paws. This was the best decision we have ever made in regard to our pet. We don't know what we would have decided if we did not have medical insurance for Grace. I would recommend Healthy Paws to anyone shopping for pet medical. Look no more. Healthy Paws should be your choice.

Amazing and Reliable! So Thankful!
I have always wanted a French Bulldog named Ned. This past Holiday season, my dream came true (along with a lot of vet visits!)I knew that I wanted to insure my new pup in order to keep him healthy and (hopefully) keep the vet bills down as much as possible. I did a lot of research and came across one of the highest ranking pet insurance companies out there. Healthy Paws. Since this was my first pet insurance purchase, I wasn't sure what teaming up with healthy paws would be like. I felt as if I was really taking a chance, especially relying on the articles I've read and the reviews other people have put out there. But I have to say, since the moment I started with healthy paws, I have been nothing but amazed at how they have handled every claim I have submitted. My little pup has suffered from severe allergies (that he is currently medicated for) and was recently hospitalized for 4 days with aspiration pneumonia. His shallow breath and lethargy was worrisome enough without having to stress about the thousands of dollars in vet bills. Luckily, thanks to Healthy Paws, I didn't need to worry. They have truly stuck to their word and have been Ned and I's saving grace. If you are in the market for pet insurance, I truly believe this is the best one out there. You'll thank yourself later!
