Makes the difference between pursuing medical care

Dogs, especially puppies love to chew. Unfortunately, it doesn’t matter what it is. Two weeks ago I came home to find my $10 sunglasses on the floor. All that remained of the sunglasses was the wire eye frame and a ¼ of one side. Everything else was gone. After franticly searching the house looking for any of the missing parts I came to the conclusion that the parts (glass and all) were inside one of my two dogs. So, off to the vet we went. Both my Weimaraner (Emma) and Schnauzer-terrier mix (Molly) were x-rayed. I was surprised to find that it was Molly, and not the Weimaraner that had eaten the glasses. Some parts passed naturally (to include some small glass shards); however, some of the metal bits wouldn’t leave her stomach. After 48 hours of watching and x-raying Molly to see if the metal bits were moving through the body, it was determined that they were not moving. So it was decided to attempt to retrieve the metal and glass bits endoscopically. The vet informed me that some pet insurance companies do not cover "accidental" ingestions. That made me a bit nervous. When I called Healthy Paws to let them know what happened and to see if I was covered, the Healthy Paws representative asked “Is Molly doing Okay now?” I really got the sense that first and foremost; she was genuinely interested in how Molly was feeling. When I asked if I was covered she said "Absolutely". The endoscope couldn’t retrieve the 75+ glass bits, screws and small metal parts.

Reliable

We received our Alaskan malamute puppy, River, on 09/29/12. We fell in love with him immediately and considered him part of the family from day one. We were a bit skeptical about signing him up for pet health insurance; however, we started to look into it and decided to enroll him in Healthy Paws. Several months after he was enrolled, River ended up getting sick. He was lethargic and wasn’t able to keep his food down, so we took him to the vet. We had to schedule two separate visits, which included exams, x-rays, an action plan, and monitoring his progress. We followed the direction of the vet and River made a full recovery. I worked with the vet’s office to process our claim with Healthy Paws Ins. and was so pleased with how fast it was processed. Healthy Paws definitely exceeded my expectations. I have already referred Healthy Paws Pet Ins. to two separate friends (both who have added new puppies into their family). I will continue to pass on my positive experience with Healthy Paws and recommend them to other proud pet owners as a reliable pet insurance company.

Healthy Paws is my dogs best friend!

I enrolled my Labrador Enzo with Healthy Paws and have been so impressed with the policy. The Customer Service is exceptional. I submit my claims via fax and have received confirmation within 1 hour and typically an Explanation of Benefits and Payment Summary within a few hours. Because of Healthy Paws I have an added sense of security knowing that I can provide Enzo with the highest level of Veterinary care. I am a dog professional and I refer Healthy Paws to all my clients.

I can relax now knowing I have this great insuranc

I decided a few years ago that I was going to get insurance on any new puppy so that I would never have to worry about making life and death decisions for them based on the expense. How heartbreaking it would be to have to put a member of the familly down because the money is just not available at a time when veterinary technology can work miracles. But along with technology, comes expense. I have 2 dogs now, the oldest has not been sick so I didn't know for sure how good this insurance company was until my new dalmatian puppy suddenly became ill. She was rushed to the veterinary and was given emergency surgery for gastrointestinal blockage. She had to stay for two nights with IV. I faxed the claim to Healthy Paws and within two days had the check in my hand. I was amazed. I'm still amazed. No hassle, no stalling, and they show genuine concern that everything is alright. I have been telling everyone I know, that this is a great company. You never know until you need them, and now I know that when I need them, they are right there with help, both financially and emotionally. Great company, the best!

Great product that saved us

Our dog stopped eating and drinking, and his hospital stay was almost $700. Initially, Healthy Paws thought there was a gap in his veterinary coverage since he was found as a stray, but a quick phone call cleared that up and I had a check in hand within 3 days. It's worth every penny and I wish my own health insurance was this easy!
