Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

I signed up for Healthy Paws when my dog was 12 hoping I would never need to use it. As a senior on a limited income, it was a big deal to add the expense of pet insurance but I considered it to be "peace of mind". About 6 months after I got the insurance, my dog got really sick unexpectedly. Without this insurance, I would have been in real trouble. The people at Healthy Paws processed my claims quickly and the checks arrived before my credit card bills did. The claims process was so easy I could just take a picture of the bill with my phone and send it. With the stress of having a very sick dog, having an easy claims process was a real bonus. I have recommended Healthy Paws to my friends and family and I will buy insurance from them much earlier some day when I have another pet. My dog is doing very well and I am sure he got the best possible care. Healthy Paws was a major factor in providing coverage for what he needed to get better. I am very grateful!!

I wanted to wait until we had Healthy Paws for a while before rating their service and I can honestly say they are fabulous! We got the policy at the same time we bought our vizsla puppy and we got him registered right away. Nothing could have been easier. It's a good thing we got the insurance too, because he had problems from the start. Puppy strangles twice, allergies and problems with his food. We have also been to the ER vet three times! Every single claim was handled super fast, I was reimbursed quickly and their service has been amazing. I cannot say enough great things about Healthy Paws!! It is SUCH a comfort to know that, when the worst happens, I'm covered.

I went to my local Vet who treated my poodle. All was well for that problem, until the next day and my poodle could not get out of her bed. I carried her into the local hospital. She walked out on pain medicine and antibiotic meds. and tests to rule out diseases. Healthy Paws came thru with what I had expected no strings attached. They even emailed me to ask how she was, communicated how my claims were being processed and sent the check.

We adopted a 5 year old Beagle mix in September, 2013. Because she was a rescue, she had very limited medical records when I applied for the insurance and was thrilled they accepted her. She tore her right CCL in May, 2014 and tore her left CCL in October, 2014, both requiring surgery. In both instances, the claims were processed within 5 days and I had check in hand within 10 days. The bills totaled about $9,000 for the two surgeries and Healthy Paws paid 80%. We feel so fortunate to have this insurance. Thanks, Healthy Paws.

Our one year old Vizsla, Gunner, had a partial stomach block. After constant vomiting, lethargy, and no appetite we decided to take him in. We ended up having to take him in to an emergency pet hospital in the middle of the night. He needed x-rays, IV, blood work, etc. and had to stay over two nights. This was the first claim we submitted. Healthy Paws was fast to process our claim. They covered everything we had anticipated on covering. They even reached out to the animal hospital to get an additional document I forgot to upload, so we didn't have to. Customer service was friendly and knowledgeable.
