Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

After losing our last dog to cancer, we knew that if we had another pet that we would insure him. Thankfully, we've only had a few smaller incidents with our Havanese. But, we all know how quickly the vet bill adds up. Healthy Paws has been a great insurance for our needs - major medical basically. Filing an online claim is easy and efficient. They accept a jpeg copy of the vet invoice and medical records. Once filed, I hear from them within a week to let me know the file being reviewed. And best yet, they handle cases quickly and send reimbursement with a few weeks. Sure wish my health insurance this efficient! So happy I got this insurance so that treatment plan is easier to handle financially.

It's been one week since Bach was run over by a Chevy Suburban in front of our house. We were all sure we had lost him, after only one year. I have a Samoyed (Bo) who ate what he wasn't supposed to. He ended up being in urgent veterinary care for 3 days. I am currently unemployed and had no clue how I was going to make ends meet with this unexpected expense. Healthy Paws has been my saving grace. I don't know what I would have done without them. I submitted Bo's claim online and received payment within 10 days! Healthy Paws covered Bo's expenses at a much higher rate than my own health insurance! I only wish that I could get insurance coverage through Healthy Paws for myself!!

When we took Leo home from the shelter, he was just a puppy. I decided to look for the best pet insurance based upon various rankings. I found HealthyPaws to be consistently rated the highest. We purchased the insurance, put the payment on a regular account charge and forgot about it. A year later Leo became gravely ill with a blockage in his stomach. This required Xrays, an Endoscope, and waking up an emergency Surgeon. The bill was near 10k Healthy Paws paid the portion it was responsible for, and we are so gratefull. We submitted the claim on Tueesday afternoon, it was approved Wednesday afternoon. They were easier to deal with than my own health insurance carrier.

I love this company. I have personally talked with the CEO, Rob, and he really cares about animals and his customers. The claim reimbursement is fast, customer service is friendly, and to make things even better--there is no cap of annual reimbursements (unlike all other pet insurance companies) and the premium does not go up much at all (about two dollars for me after one year) based on amount of claim reimbursement requests. As a law student, I need peace of mind that my sweet baby, Malachi, is taken care of to the best of my ability. What Healthy Paws does for me is allows me to pay a low monthly fee to guarantee I can afford treatment and not forgo treatment based on expenses. Even once I transition from law school to full-time employment, it is worth keeping this insurance.
