Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

Healthy paws is incredible, they cover so much, and are so quick to reimburse you. I have the 90% reimbursement plan, and after an unexpected emergency with my cat I realized they reimbursed me more than the actual amount I’d been paying in pet insurance over the last 3 years. So totally worth it!! Also, their app is incredibly easy to use, usually I file my claim while paying the bill in the vets office. The personalized follow up to check on your pet is really nice too!

When my 12 year old dog passed on I got another husky, a rescue. He's an absolute joy and only 3 years old. I had insurance for my former dog and was not impressed, but I did a lot of research and signed up for Healthy Paws the day after I got Bernie. Suddenly 3 weeks ago he collapsed. I rushed him to the ER. After life saving surgery and a blood transfusion, he was diagnosed with Hemangiasarcoma, an awful disease, rarely seen in Huskies, and even more rare in young dogs. He is doing remarkably well, and we are doing all we can to give him a happy healthy life. Healthy Paws covered 90% of the costs, just like they said they would. The paperwork was processed rapidly. I am very impressed.

We recently got a very unexpected osteosarcoma diagnosis for our very young (5 yrs old) large breed dog. We have been healthy paws customers for the past 4 years. Over the past few years, she has never required more than routine care. I did not imagine how important pet insurance would be until we had this very serious diagnosis. Healthy Paws has covered all of our dog's treatments and diagnostics (x-rays, biopsy, and amputation surgery) at 90%. It has been the easiest process ever (submitting a photo of the receipt through the app and having the reimbursement sent by direct deposit). They have been so helpful, even offering to arrange for an upfront payment if we couldn't afford the very significant surgery payment. Without their support, our dog literally would not be with us. We are so grateful for their help and support during such a difficult time.

I've had my Shih-Tzu, Bella (a rescue), insured since 2013. I had a few claims before this year, and all claims were handled quickly. This year, it was discovered Bella had a lung tumor. Since that diagnosis, there's been surgery, chemo - Cyberknife treatment - and more chemo, as well as dry eye treatment. Let me say, the tumor was not able to be removed. On the Healthy Paws website I read about Cyberknife. I didn't know it existed until reading it on the HP website! Bella was a candidate! That treatment alone was $13,200! I would not have known this treatment option was available, but for it being on the Healthy Paws website! Since April of this year, my reimbursements have totaled over $18,000. Each claim is paid promptly. The claim submission process couldn't be simpler. When I've had to call HP with a question, the staff couldn't be more helpful. They even wish Bella luck when sending emails!! Healthy Paws has not only paid every claim - and claims will still be coming in - but they saved Bella's life with publicizing the Cyberknife treatment, and covering it!! Healthy Paws is absolutely the best pet insurance company. All told, I've received almost $21,000 - yes, 21 thousand - in reimbursements! The Cyberknife was a success, and Bella has a new lease on life!

Incredible Insurance Company. My dog suffered a traumatic fall and herniated 3 discs and bruised her spinal cord. She required a neurologist and MRI. I submitted my claim and received a total check from Healthy Paws, no arguments or delaying tactics from them. The check arrived BEFORE the credit card bills so at no time was I out of pocket for large amounts of money. I only wish that my health insurance company was as honorable. They are by far the best insurance company out there.
