Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

I was prompted to get pet insurance after having a scare with my pup back in 2015. I did some research and went with Healthy Paws since they had such positive ratings and some of the best coverage. I'm so glad I did! My dog doesn't have a lot of claims, but recently required surgery on his leg which was incredibly expensive. Healthy Paws processed the claim quickly and covered it all. It's such a relief to have a company with such great service. Their app makes it so simple to submit a claim, and they always process them quickly. I have coverage for both of my dogs through Healthy Paws, and will be their customer for life!

Claim was easy to file on line, updated my claim via email on a regular basis without having to double check. I filed my claim, it was reviewed and posted for payment within a week. I would highly recommend this pet insurance, handled better than most health insurance claims. Dave

HealthyPaws has covered 90 percent of qualified expenses (pretty much everything except the examination fee), no questions asked. We went from mourning the imminent loss of our best bud to helping him recover. He's as happy as ever, now. And we get to treasure the rest of our time with him. HealthyPaws also covered his stomach surgeries when he ate rocks. I didn't expect to have a dog who routinely needs emergency care, but HealthyPaws has allowed us to overcome those obstacles. I really can't say enough about how simple and important this insurance has been for my family.

I've had a policy with Healthy Paws for five years, paid about $3,500 in premiums, and had one small claim. Because of a banking SNAFU and an unannounced Healthy Paws premium increase, Healthy Paws was unable to electronically collect the monthly premium on my policy. Healthy Paws immediately notified me of cancellation of my policy - no warning, no outreach, no grace period. I corrected the banking SNAFU and tried to contact Healthy Paws ten times, some by phone and some by email, but without connecting, for over a week. No replies to email, and the outgoing phone message said they weren't answering phone calls because of a "weather event." They had the wherewithal to immediately cancel my policy, notwithstanding the "weather event," but not to respond to my inquiries about policy reinstatement. Enough! I'm canceling this policy that has been so lucrative for Healthy Paws, but which they cannot service with even minimal customer service.
