Wouldn't have a pet without having pet insurance!

Our 4 1/2 year old Golden Retriever has never eaten anything other than food/treats. All of a sudden one afternoon she vomited a good amount of plastic -- two kinds, two colors. Have never figured out where it came from - best guess is from inside of a plush toy. She is an inside dog and never in our yard without supervision. So after she vomited we figured that was out of he system, but 8 hours later in the middle of the night she vomited more plastic, so off to the emergency clinic we went. She was admitted and observed and some testing was done and she was discharged after about 15 hours. At home she vomited again mid-day (no plastic) and then late afternoon vomited her food, so fearing possible obstruction we took her back to the emergency clinic. Ultimately she had an ultrasound to look for obstruction -- none found, so discharged. Two days later she vomited again, food and more plastic! Took her to another emergency clinic for second opinion and treatment -- endoscopy done, no plastic found. No further vomiting after this, but this ended up being 8 days of worry and repeated trips and evaluations at two emergency clinics. Total charges were $3,959 and we were reimbursed $3,253. We could not have give our sweet pup the care and attention she needed without Healthy Paws, and if there had been an obstruction without her getting treatment she very well may have died! We are so grateful for Healthy Paws.

Best decision for my dog!

Healthy paws has been one of the best decisions that we have made for our dog. Even though the premiums are a bit on the higher end, it has always been super easy to submit claims. The EOB after the claim has been processed, clearly calls out the breakdown and I have never had to go back to customer support on this. We recently got a major surgery (ACL) done for our dog and I submitted the invoice a couple of days after. This was a huge bill and I was nervous on how much I would be getting back (based on the breakdown of the invoice). Surprisingly the majority of the bill was covered by the insurance and money deposited into my account in a few days, there was not even a single follow up call done by insurance company to check or verify the details of the invoice (which is something I have heard other insurance companies do a lot and harass customers). Kudos to the great team at Healthy paws and keep it up !!

HORRIBLE COMPANY, WAS GOOD NOW AWFUL

Sneaky company quotes a $1,000 deductible but you must spend over $1,300 to meet a $1,000 deductible! Their own website apologizes for delayS in paying claims...go see for yourself. Calls go unanswered for up to an hour then answered by a Philippine phone room. They dont pay the vet's fee! They dont cover things like stem cell therapy like Embrace does. Trust me, this company haS morphed into a total loser! I switched to Embrace that charges an honest deductible....$1,000 means $1,000! They pay the vet's fee and meds. They covered over $2,ooo for stem cell therapy for my dogs hips (Healthy Paws not). Try calling Healthy Paws then call embrace. Try submitting a claim and see who pays within a reasonable period of time and who does not. Embrace will cover up to 30K annually and thats far more than you may ever need! I URGE YOU TO ASK HEALTHY PAWS HOW MUCH YOU MUST SPEND TO MEET A THOUSAND DOLLAR DEDUCTIBLE. ASK THEM WILL THEY PAY YOUR VET? WILL THEY PAY FOR STEM CELL THERAPY OR ACUPUNCTURE. GO LOOK AT THEIR APOLOGETIC WEBSITE. DO YOU SPEAK TAGALO....CAN YOU UNDERSTAND FOREIGNERS OR WANT YOUR MONEY AND JOBS OUTSOURCED WHEN EVERY OTHER PET INSURER IS HOME BASED. DISGUSTING. Great company!

Great company to work with, they seem to really care about our pets and always follow up to make sure my dog is ok if she has had a procedure. I also received a sympathy card from the company when I lost my previous pet.....you don't find many companies that care for their customers the way Healthy Paws does......I am extremely satisfied with their service!

Compassionate and Caring

I have yet to have to file a claim through healthy paws, however I am so grateful for them. On September 26th, I had to say goodbye to my best friend, Rudy. Nothing could save him, and I had to spare his pain. I called the company the next day to remove him from my policy and the customer service rep was very sympathetic and caring. They even went so far as to send me a hand-written sympathy card. While no one knew how much Rudy meant to me, they still took the time to reach out to me and that means a lot.
