A company that delivers!

I have nothing but good things to say about this insurance. I have had pet insurance for both my dogs, but this is the first time I've used Healthy Paws. The biggest reason I changed was the ability to choose my coverage. The last insurance I used had amounts for the maximum they would reimburse & it didn't matter what the costs were for your specific situation. Healthy Paws allows you to choose your deductible and percentage of coverage. This will obviously effect your monthly rate, but the choice is still yours to make. As I stated, I have had insurance for both dogs I've owned and I have had to have major surgeries to both. The 1st was a herniated disc in his back that had him paralyzed & my current dog had to have TPLO surgery. Both insurance companies covered the surgeries, but Healthy Paws went above and beyond! Not only did we get the 90% coverage after deductible, but it didn't take long to get approved. Yes, there is a delay (couple of weeks) for the major surgery as I'm sure they verify necessity, medical records, and whatnot. I was initially stressed that we had to pay for this surgery upfront & God forbid it gets denied or they try not to cover the entire surgery. Having your pet go through a major, costly surgery is a huge stress alone. What a weight getting lifted off your shoulders when you see that your claim has been approved! Then my poor pup got an infection from the surgery that caused an emergency vet visit that was quite costly. Fear not my friends! That was approved in just a couple of days! My brother has a different company for his dog & he said he had to wait months on every claim he has ever submitted. He is now looking to change to Healthy Paws. If you are looking for an honest, fair, caring insurance company there is none better than Healthy Paws! They even emailed me asking how my dog was doing after surgery. I thought maybe it was some standard automated email, but I figured I'd email them back with details just to see. Well within a day they responded with an email that was clearly from a person specifically to me. Sometimes it's the little things that go a long way!

Very happy customer

We bought a beautiful puppy to replace our loving dog who died of cancer and because we had some pretty high medical expenses, we decided to get our new Bebe an insurance policy at only a couple of months old. About a month after our purchase Bebe scratched her eye somehow outside and had a $300+ vet bill. Except for sending her up to date shot records and invoices, we were sent 3 checks without any hassle. We did the right thing with Healthy Paws.

Makes Claims Easy

We got Healthy Paws after our dog broke her toe and needed x-rays about every two weeks to see if it was healing correctly. After that our dog needed minor medical attention, nothing serious. And then one day she got into the trash and ate a bunch of stuff that wasn't food. After throwing up a lot we took her to the emergency ER and they found foreign objects stuck in her stomach. They recommended to perform surgery to remove the objects immediately. Knowing that Healthy Paws would take care of 80% of the bill, made the entire process so much easier and less stressful. We didn't have to worry about the cost of the surgery or her care, we just needed to make decisions based on what was best for our dog. This is the only pet insurance I have gotten, but the process of using it and getting reimbursed is so easy. I just take a picture of the invoice, submit it, and about 10 days later I get an itemized statement of what was deducted and paid for. Before they used to send the reimbursement to you in check form, but now they do direct deposit.

Insurance Fraud

Their policy contradicts itself purposely to deny coverage. The policy does not give proper specification and leave an open blanket to deny coverage. I feel stupid in trusting a website called https://www.consumersadvocate.org where they were rated # 1, to later learn that consumers are not allowed to write reviews on this website, so who is really advocating their reviews? e.g. policy states that they exclude "Dental Health Care. The regular care required to maintain dental hygiene for your pet. This includes brushing, scaling, polishing, extractions and reconstructions." My dog literally had a hole in his face and had to be on antibiotics for weeks due to an infection caused by an abscess. This was considered to them as "regular care". I would want to see if a child had a hole in their face, if any parent would consider it as "regular care".

Well worth the money

Having Healthy Paws Insurance has been a blessing. When we brought our new 2 month old puppies home, I knew that I had to make a smart decision about pet insurance. I received a lot of recommendations from the veterinarian on which companies to use but I did my own research to find the best fit for our family. Once I decided on Healthy Paws, I never expected that i would have to file a claim a couple of months later for my puppy’s emergency surgery. The claim process was so easy and painless. Once the claim was settled, the customer service did not stop after the check was received. We were surprised and grateful to receive an email from the Healthy Paws customer service checking in on the status of our puppy and his progress. It was so unexpected that an insurance company would check up on the health and well being of our new puppy after the surgery. We were treated like a member of their family and we appreciate the kind words. I’m so grateful for Healthy Paws and I know that if I need to use them again, the process will be stress free and quick. I have recommended Healthy Paws to many friends already.
