Healthy Paws Pet Insurance review I was lucky enough to have insured my beloved cat a few years ago. Mrs. Fat, as she is lovingly called due to her love of food and pleasantly plump appearance, came to me as a rescue in 2013 after being abandoned by former owners not just once, but twice and was found wandering the streets of a friend of mines neighborhood. From the moment I brought her into my home Fatness stole my heart. I went through a horrible divorce that involved abuse and Fatness has always been my touchstone, my true north. She is my family and I cannot imagine my life without her. Over the past few months Fatness blood work started showing some out of the ordinary readings and after being admitted to ICU right before Christmas, the team at Sugarland Veterinary Specialists expertly took care of her and fast-tracked her into surgery and biopsies to get the right diagnosis. Procedures I could never have afforded without Healthy Paws. I was frantic and besides myself with worry and grief and Healthy Paws not only made me feel safe and protected and that I could provide the love and care my pet so desperately needed. They even went above and beyond to help with direct pay on a moments notice as things were moving so fast and it was the week before Christmas. On Christmas Eve Fatness was diagnosed with Liver Disease. Although my heart is broken that my furry family member received this painful and eventually terminal diagnosis; through the continued help and support of Healthy Paws, she is being treated with a combination of home and hospital therapy and support and as I write this is lounging outside on her patio in the sun. My favorite creature in the world, my snowshoe Siamese cat was recently diagnosed with CKD and small cell lymphoma. The diagnostics alone were monumental. I cannot even begin to express how grateful I am to have healthy paws. Having an unwell cat is hard enough without having to worry if I can afford to help him. Thanks to healthy paws, despite having had over 5K worth of visits, tests and medications and my only headache is getting my still very strong and feisty cat into his carrier.

I just wanted to send you a note to say thank you. My golden retriever, Roxy, has had one problem after the next since we got her (from a "reputable" breeder). Ear infections, allergies, two torn ACL's and now a terrible sinus infection that we are trying to fix. Have tried antifungals, antibiotics, (no improvement) and are about to do a rhinoscopy. It could be as simple as she sniffed a foreign body up her nose, or as serious as an autoimmune disease or cancer. One thing I haven't had to worry about is choosing between putting food on our table and giving our dog the care she needs. You have always reimbursed fairly, and I've never had any issues (and thankfully you haven't dropped me!). You are a wonderful, wonderful company. Thank you so much. Healthy paws has been a great insurance company and they have always completed the claims in a timely manner. Very simple to take a picture in the app and submit. Anything that is covered after the deductible is then just deposited into my bank account taking very little of my time and effort. With a busy life I appreciate this and allows me the peace of mind to give my dog the very best care like he deserves!

Overall I found Healthy Paws customer service courteous and the claims process was very easy; however, I found it strange that when I submitted a claim, only the percentage of the claim that equaled my reimbursement percentage was applied towards my deductible. For example, if I chose a 90% reimbursement rate after my annual deductible was met, then only 90% of the total amount of my claim was applied. When I questioned the company about this calculation, no one (even management) could provide me with an answer as to why. In my 3rd year of coverage, my premium jumped 25% with no warning. That was the last straw for me.
