Great coverage and easy to navigate

I've insured my cat with Healthy Paws for two years. She's had few health issues in this time and we never really needed to use it. Until last month. My poor girl was diagnosed with heart disease at only four years old. In just 4 weeks we've had 3 emergency vet visits, one follow-up check up, 3 medications she'll need daily for the rest of her life, and a mandate to schedule follow up appointments with the cardiologist every 4-6 weeks. So far the total vet bills have amounted to almost $5,000 and the ongoing check ups aren't necessarily cheap either. Without Healthy Paws we wouldn't be able to afford these treatments, but my baby cat can't survive without them. I've been able to file all the Healthy Paws claims through the app, and Healthy Paws has honored their coverage of 90% (the plan I enrolled in, thank goodness!). I was very nervous filing my first claims with the large bills because you can hear horror stories about insurance companies denying procedures due to 'fine print' items. Healthy Paws has been incredible and has even reached out to check in on my girl and ask how she's doing. I've gotten all my reimbursements within 2 weeks. (Most have actually been within 5 days, but the first claim had a longer-than-average wait time. It was incredibly nerve wracking but, to be fair to Healthy Paws, they were very communicative they were experiencing delays and that the longer-than-average time was to be expected.) I'm so so grateful I made the decision to enroll her in Healthy Paws (and with a higher coverage plan!) those years ago. It is heart wrenching to think that I might have had to choose between financial stability or my cat's life. I've recommended this company to every pet owner I know - it is absolutely worth it.

Quick and easy claim processing, caring customer service

My 6 yr old shepherd was diagnosed with a partial cruciate tear in one leg and likely a fully torn cruciate in the other. The vet had suggested doing both surgeries at one time but we weren't sure if my dog could handle that tougher rehab. When I called Healthy Paws to find out if the coverage applied either way, the rep that I talked with was very understanding and said we should follow the vet's recommendations and that his injury would be covered whether we did one or two surgeries. We ended up choosing to do two separate surgeries, had the first leg repaired and PRP treatment on the other leg. He was just released back to normal activity and both legs are holding up well. Healthy Paws even reached out to see how he was healing. We are very pleased with the level of coverage we have received on his procedures, and in particular how easy they have been to deal with as far as filing claims and receiving reimbursement. If only human insurance companies were this easy to work with!

Healthy Paws is Transparent and Do What They Say They are Going to Do

I have had Healthy Paws for over 7 years and really have not had cause to submit claims until recently. Their coverage is for when your dog is sick or injured, so they don't cover standard pet visits, wellness checks etc, but they are there for the big stuff when you need them, and boy have I needed them this year. My dog was recently in need of an emergency splenectomy and was diagnosed with cancer. They reviewed and approved my claims for the surgery, meds, hospital stay and so on within days, and I had the check deposited in my account without delay. I simply uploaded the invoices and they compensated for the eligible treatments without question or fanfare. They have even written to inquire about Doyle's health and progress. This coverage has given me the peace of mind I hoped it would when i first purchased it. I am able to do everything I can for my best friend without giving it a second thought due to cost. They cover 90% unlimited for qualifying bills with the plan I have.

Grateful for pet insurance!

I've had Healthy Paws insurance for my orange tabby Jules since 2015. Recently he had a urinary blockage that warranted a trip to the ER. He was kept there overnight (catheter, pain meds, x-rays, the whole shebang...very expensive, of course!), then it was recommended I take him to his regular vet. His regular vet had him stay there for 3 days while they monitored his condition. This was my first claim so I had to request all of his vet records. I made a call to Healthy Paws to make sure exactly what documents I needed and the person who helped me was very kind and explained everything. I submitted the invoices as well as all of the vets' notes (SOAP notes) electronically and within 10 days I received my reimbursement checks. I was extremely satisfied! About a week later I had to take Jules in again to his regular vet because he was vomiting bile. I submitted that claim on a Monday and received my check that Friday! Jules is doing 100% better now. It's peace of mind to have pet insurance. It's true, the insurance doesn't cover regular vet visits (yearly vaccines, dental cleanings), but it's worth it to me.
