I immediately took him to my vet for xrays, bloodwork and a barium test. His liver enzymes were off the charts. 24 hours later, I was at the University of Illinois Veterinarian School where he was placed in intensive care for 7 days after having his gall bladder removed. Thank goodness for Healthy Paws Insurance, the estimate of $6,500 was no reason to pause and have to consider putting Hank down at 3yrs old. Within 2wks I had a reimbursement check in my mailbox for $4,900. I pay $175/mo to insure all 3 of my pugs, it's worth every penny.

Healthy Paws has been a lifesaver! My poor beagle/dachshund boy, Buzz, has been dealing with IBD, liver issues and most recently pneumonia. It seems like we are constantly at the vet.
