Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

Our dog Seaver managed to ingest a toxin on a hike off-leash, she was vomiting and shaking, it was terrifying. We needed to get her medical attention immediately. We were quoted a price of $1800-$2600 from the hospital. Even with insurance, we weren't sure if most would be covered or if we'd have to wait a long time for reimbursement. I called our insurance company, Healthy Paws, on that Sunday and they assured me all would be fine. Seaver spent overnight at the hospital. It was a very nerve-wracking night but lucky for us she pulled through. Left with a $2600 bill on my credit card I submitted my claim online, to Healthy Paws. It was simple and within 2 days my claim was processed and I received a check in the mail 5 days later for the full amt. less $151.00 for the exam and my deductible. We could not be more grateful to the Healthy Paws team for their coverage and quick response to our dog's medical bills. If you are on the fence about getting insurance I highly recommend it and getting it through Healthy Paws. Vets are seeing more pets coming in each day after consuming marijuana or worse. This single event would have been detrimental to us financially. Having the peace of mind that we were able to get Seaver the best care during this very scary event was an absolute Godsend!

After over six years of paying for my pet insurance I had the need to file a claim of almost $1000 due to injury and they only reimbursed about $160, I thought it was a mistake and called customer service and they said there was indeed an error and reimbursed $14 dollars more...seriously? I thought it was a joke. They obviously don't care once the pet gets older and that way they can get rid of the pet once they start having issues. I wish I didn't wasted all that money for so many years. They use excuses not to pay 90% reimbursement minus deductible as promised. Consider other insurance such as Embrace who are more honest.

My dog got into a bottle of Advil while I was out. He was urgently admitted to the animal hospital for two days and then had follow up meds and lab work for a week. It was so nice to be able to tell them to do whatever he needed knowing I had coverage. The claim was uploaded, approved to pay, and the check sent within a week. From customer service to claims processing it was a great experience. I even received a follow up email this week checking on his recovery and hoping he was doing well. Absolutely NO hassle filing the claim or receiving payment. Amazing company!

My dog was able to get the childproof top off an Advil bottle while I was out. He was emergently hospitalized for two days with follow up medications and lab work for a week. It was incredible to say "do whatever he needs" knowing that I had coverage with Healthy Paws. He is now recovered and I am so grateful. I can not say enough about Healthy Paws. I uploaded the invoice to them on Wednesday, the claim was approved to pay within a few days (crazy week so can't remember exactly but I believe it was 2 days) and I received the check early the following week. No questions asked in fact I received an email from them checking on how he was doing and wishes that he was recovering with no issues. Again, I cannot say enough about them from customer service through the claims department!!

We have been insured by Healthy Paws for 2 years. We’ve got 2 cats and a dog and our experience has always been nothing short of 10 stars. Healthy paws make filing claims really easy, and the majority of the time claims are settled within a day or so. Their customer service team are easy to get a hold of (I’ve never waited more than a few minutes to speak with someone) and they genuinely care about the pets that they cover. We had a tragedy fall on us recently when our eldest cat Nelson was hit by a car. He ended up needing surgery for a shattered pelvis and a fractured foot, and suffered a couple of complications in the weeks following. Of all the worries that we had, one thing that we did not have to worry about was his coverage. Healthy Paws covered the majority of the bills and made the whole process as easy as possible. They even sent me a follow up email a few weeks later asking how he was doing. Thankfully, he’s making great steps in his recovery and should be back to full strength in the next few months.
