So lucky to be able to help my fur baby With Healthy Paws

I have had Healthy Paws since my pug Brutus was only 4 months old, and boy am I glad I got it. My poor Brutus has had some health issues since he was about 2 and Healthy Paws has been a life savor..with medications, and vet visits, and even a few trips to Emergency Vet. It can be very overwhelming you want to do whatever you can to keep your fur baby healthy and get them the best care but it can be really costly. Knowing i have Healthy Paws to help me out with those costs means all the difference in the treatment he gets. I tell everyone I know to get pet insurance and do your research. I had a pug before this one and the insurance was not great. I often tell people i wish I could go on his plan its better than mine is! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has a fur baby. I have the best plan but they do offer other more cost efficient plans for people.

Thank You for paying 80% of Blue Leahs elbow dysplasia operation!

Blue Leah hurt herself after a walk one evening & I took her to the emergency vet service. They thought she had sprained her left leg & advise to take her to her vet if her limp doesn't improve. We schedule a vet visit with her primary vet after a week. She took x-rays and submitted them to another doctor for review. Attended a consultation and was advised that she had elbow dysplasia in both front legs. They told us the cost could be $3600 - $4200 to perform surgery to remove the cartilage blocking proper bone growth and that she will have arthritis. Fortunate for Blue Leah & us, we had Healthy Paws pet insurance. The procedure had to be done. The actual surgeon only had to perform surgery on her left elbow. It still is a long road to recovery but having pet insurance is worth it to cover Blue! Especially Healthy Paws! They processed the claim in less than a week. Thank you Healthy Paws!

Easy, Fast and Friendly

I have found Healthy Paws insurance to be stellar. Filing claims is as easy as uploading the vet bill, and they process quickly.

Healthy Paws is the BEST!

I cannot recommend Healthy Paws enough. I lost my best friend Huck (Jack Russel) last summer after a gall bladder issues and a 14k surgery option that crushed my soul to not attempt. With his age (16) and difficulty with this type of surgery AND the cost! we had to let him go. It still breaks my heart to think about him. We did not have insurance.. Anyway, my family all wanted to get a new dog and after some time I agreed. We found the cutest Wire Hair Fox Terrier (Finn) and brought him home. My one demand, other than the name, was that we get pet insurance so I would never have to make a decision of surgery based on price. I didn't want price to be ANY thought in the decision to try and save his life if necessary. So, after weeks of research and talking with our Vet and friends, I decided on Healthy Paws and cannot say enough about the experience. Finn has had an impacted baby tooth (surgery). Baby teeth did not fall out on their own (surgery). Numerous digestional issues (he eats everything outside). And the latest is he ate one of my daughter's toys. Thankfully the object passed without surgery (IV, fluids and ultrasound), but you can imagine the costs associated with all of these problems in less than 7 months. Healthy Paws has backed us up at every step. The first claim took a few days and I was worried about the horror stories you hear about insurance but after they set up communications with my Vet, the claim was accepted and the payment went directly into our bank account. Fantastic! The claims have piled up to a point where I feel bad that Healthy Paws is WAY underwater on my account. They have approved every claim I have posted (with the use of a great app) and Finn is happy as a puppy should be, chewing away on a bone at my feet. We bring pets into our homes to not only improve our lives but to give them an amazing life as well. They are our family. I cannot say this enough, if you love your pet and want the best for them, get insurance. And if you want my opinion, Healthy Paws cannot be beaten. Period.

Good insurance but one major flaw

In general this is a good plan. No cap on benefits, reasonably easy to submit claims and quick turnaround on payment. My problem is that when I read the fine print that said they didn't cover veterinary exams, I thought that meant regular preventive exams. I didn't realize they meant that anything classified as an "exam fee" isn't covered, even if it's part of an emergency care visit for a condition that is covered by the insurance. This has meant that major portions of our unexpected vet bills get denied. Because of this I am looking for other options. If they covered exam fees for non-routine visits I would have rated them much higher.
