Supportive, reassuring, quick response and caring!
I have 2 mix breed dogs that we rescued as puppies and insured them through Healthy Paws early on. I chose Healthy Paws because the reviews were great and their rates and coverage was affordable and it fit our needs. Our oldest dog, Tanner, has had 2 emergencies, prior to our recent one, and processing claims through the Healthy Paws App were a breeze and the claims and reimbursement were processed quickly. Our most recent emergency occurred at the beginning of this March. Tanner began to cry out of what appeared to be pain and to drag his front left leg. In a span of 7 days, we visited his vet twice where x-rays were taken (no fractures) and pain medication and steroid prescribed. By the 7th day, his whole left side began to drag and he was crying non stop. I was advised to rush him for emergency neurological assessment. On my way to the neurologist, I called Healthy Paws and I was assured that Tanner’s medical needs would be covered and was asked to focus on Tanner and not to worry! Well Tanner had a ruptured disk on his neck that required emergency surgery. Tanner underwent an MRI, surgery, 10 days in the hospital because he needed 24/7 care, numerous medication and physical therapy. I cannot say enough about the importance of purchasing pet insurance! We could not have given Tanner the proper medical care that he needed if it wasn’t for Healthy Paws! The hospital needed payment upfront and Healthy Paws made arrangements to pay the hospital directly. Our out-of-pocket cost was $1,900. A fraction of what the hospital charged! We are going on 4 weeks since Tanner had his surgery and he is beginning to walk on his own again. It will be a long recovery but I am glad to know Healthy Paws is here for us! They even contacted me to know how Tanner was coming along! My advise, chose the maximum plan. We purchased the plan with a $100 deductible and a 90% reimbursement! Well worth the monthly premium!

Healthy Paws was a huge help to me and my dog!
Healthy Paws responded in a very timely fashion to my claim. I had a couple questions about the claim and a customer representative called me at the scheduled time that I was told they would call me. They answered my questions and explained to me what other information they would need in order to process my claim. The same day that I provided Healthy Paws with all the needed paperwork for the claim I was informed that the claim had been received and was being processed. Within just a few days after that I was informed that they had completed processing the claim and that they would be covering 80% of the claim. They told me exactly how much money that would be. The check arrived in the mail very quickly, in not much more than a week, which was a huge help since my dog’s surgery was very expensive. Also I received an email from the company inquiring about how my dog was doing post op which was very thoughtful.

Better Than I Expected
I purchased health insurance for my dog when he was five years old. I spent several months researching all the companies out there because honestly, I was skeptical that companies wouldn't be reliable, trustworthy, wouldn't actually pay out when the time came. But, I've been down the end-of-life road with several dogs and it rips your heart out while wiping out your finances. I needed to be prepared and chose Healthy Paws. A year ago my dog had a large tumor that required a splenectomy and numerous expensive tests. Thankfully we caught and removed the cancer before it could spread. The bills totaled around $10,000 between checkups, surgery, ultrasounds, x-rays, and meds. Healthy Paws paid my claims without issue, and paid them promptly.
My Babydog is 13 now and has been diagnosed with transitional cell carcinoma. With chemotherapy, if it works, he should be around for another comfortable and active year. Once again, the cost is astounding. If I were paying for this on my own, I would be tens of thousands of dollars into credit card debt. Or Rex would be gone. I can't stress enough how valuable Healthy Paws Pet Insurance has been to us financially. Also, they are always polite. They answer questions promptly. They pay claims promptly and without hassle. And they donate money to local animal shelters throughout the country. I really can't say enough good things about Healthy Paws and my experience with them. I wish my own health insurance worked as well.

The best
Healthy Paws has been there for us everytime we have needed them, they are helpful, quick responding and caring. I have insurance for my dogs because I never want to have to make a decision based on financial abilities. Some people think insurance is a waste of money until you need it! We have needed it on several occasions from a spleen removal @4k to on going mast cell disease which has to be well over 6, and healthy paws has been there every single time we need them, just make sure you get your wellness check when you sign up.. that is it, after a short waiting period, your all set to go! 💚

Most responsive company/best service!
Our 4 yr old Golden Retriever, Laika, had a walnut-sized lump removed from her chest on Jan. 30th, that I was worried about . . . it had been aspirated earlier, and tests showed that it was okay. But, I just didn't feel good about leaving it there. I pushed for surgery to remove it - it showed that the lump was malignant Subcutaneous Hemangiosarcoma. I thank God that it was removed before it spread to her organs - once it reaches their organs, there is no hope! Healthy Paws was right there with us - covered all of the surgery, meds, etc. One month later, we went to the oncologist to have xrays and an abdominal ultrasound - once again, Healthy Paws covered these tests, which were clear! We'll need to stay vigilant in checking on this horrible form of cancer via regular testing for Laika, and we are so very grateful that Healthy Paws is with us. We would be lost without the insurance coverage we purchased from them, and their support! Thank you Healthy Paws!
