2nd review, first one was positive but totally different experience.

I had recently wrote a review about how great their customer service was on the phone. I gave it a 5 star rating. But what I did not know when I purchased the insurance recommended by a friend that you had to submit claims within 90 days. I have a husband 80 years old with Alzheimer’s. At the time my friend recommended I had a close relative just diagnosed with cancer. They went through 4 months of chemotherapy and radiation, I was at their house everyday to disinfect the bedroom and ensuite bathroom. I also washed all her clothes and bedding separately, while still looking after my husband who would sit and watch TV there. My best girlfriend of over 50 years lost her youngest daughter at age 50 from a brain aneurysm, leaving behind her husband and 16 year old son. I had to be there to support my best friend and her husband through this devastating experience. When I finally got around to submitting my claims it was after the 90 days for all but one. I know this 90 day rule is in their agreement but I did not have time to read it when I signed up for this insurance. The largest bill was before the 90 days and I was devastated to find out I was not covered as this is the reason I took out the insurance and as a senior do not have a lot of money with the cost of inflation these days. Still thinking whether to keep insurance or just put aside my monthly payments to Fetch into a separate bank account for future vet bills.

Excellent live chat experience

I was provided with excellent service from the live chat customer service staff. I had a couple of questions regarding payment and deductibles, both questions were answered to my satisfaction.

The turnaround for claims

When I initially inquired for the insurance - it was great. All my questions answered etc. Had to do a wellness check which was fine when in and had it done - but why does claims take so long? This was my first one and I can already say I am not impressed. I just have in review - all documents were submitted right away so I am not understanding. I know I won't get any $$ back this time as my deducted needs to be used first but.....I am not impressed so far........I know I'm new but I am not understanding.

I am writing this review to share my deeply disappointing experience with Fetch Pet Insurance. My family and I have been paying for our dog’s insurance for over three years, trusting that our pet would be covered should any health issues arise. During this entire period, we never filed any claims as our dog remained healthy. Recently, we submitted a claim for approximately $350, expecting it to be processed without issue. To our shock, we were informed that the claim was denied because we had not provided annual veterinary check-up reports for our dog. At no point during the past three years were we made aware of this requirement. If this crucial piece of information had been communicated to us, we would have ensured compliance without hesitation. It is incredibly unfair and frustrating to be denied coverage after faithfully paying premiums for three years. We feel that we have been paying for a service under false pretenses. The lack of communication from Fetch regarding policy requirements is unacceptable and has resulted in our claim being unjustly denied. Despite reaching out to customer service, our case was not reconsidered. This lack of transparency and poor customer service has left us feeling deceived and deeply disappointed. We have essentially paid for nothing over the past three years, and our trust in Fetch has been completely eroded. We strongly advise pet owners to think twice before using Fetch insurance for their pet insurance needs. Our experience has shown that they do not prioritize clear communication with their customers and may deny claims on technicalities that were never clearly communicated. We hope that sharing our experience will help others avoid the same frustration and disappointment that we have faced.

Monthly Cost

Plans average $35/month for dogs and $25 /month for cats

You choose a reimbursement level of 70%, 80% or 90% after your deductible.

Annual limit of $5,000, $10,000 or unlimited depending on your chosen plan.

Age Limits

Fetch doesn’t enforce upper age limits, so you can enroll your pet any time after it turns six weeks old. Some providers limit coverage for older pets to accident-only. Fetch doesn’t limit coverage by age so that you can get the right care for your buddy, no matter what.

Waiting Period

Fetch’s waiting periods are up to 15 days for accidents and illnesses and six months for orthopedic events.

Exclusions

Fetch won’t cover pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures, boarding costs, breeding costs, wellness care items, or accidents and illnesses that occur during waiting periods.
