Smooth Claims Process, but Watch the Deductible

Submitting our claim for our dog’s porcupine‑quill incident was very easy, and Fetch kept us updated with frequent notifications. The refund arrived in a reasonable timeframe, which was great! One thing to note: our dog needed follow‑up visits, and because the timing crossed our annual renewal date, we had to pay the $300 deductible TWICE for what was essentially the same incident. This was our only claim in the six years of our dog's life, so it was an unexpected surprise. Overall, the process was smooth, but I’d encourage new customers to double‑check whether their policy uses an "annual" or "per‑incident" deductible so there are no surprises.

Not necessary for diligent pet owners that have stable income and access to credit.

If you are looking to get fetch pet insurance because you take care of your pets by doing annual vet visits, feeding them high quality food, and exercising them daily as well as have access to a good vet that doesn’t price gouge you with overnight stays and unnecessary tests and your pet is healthy and young. Then this is the review for you. You are 100% better off putting the premium that fetch charges you into a savings account rather than paying it to fetch as you will not get anything back on the annual vet visit unless you do teeth cleanings with your vet and the deductible will prevent you from getting any money back on random small vet visits. I would say this service is only helpful for pets that have not received neutering/spaying and initial shots and for people that haven’t considering going to a local adoption center to have this done. Additionally any pets that spend time outdoors will benefit from this service for the bigger emergencies that come along with spending time outdoors. Also this service may be beneficial if you find brushing your pets teeth difficult then the dental plan may be worthwhile. But unfortunately if you are getting this after those initial costs or because you are an excessively diligent pet owner you will have saved up enough by saving the premium yourself to pay for any accidents that occur.

Fetch Sign Up

Aileen did a fantastic job explaining pet coverage for my cat. She answered all of my questions thoroughly and was very professional.

Monthly Cost

Plans average $35/month for dogs and $25 /month for cats

Coverage

You choose a reimbursement level of 70%, 80% or 90% after your deductible.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $5,000, $10,000 or unlimited depending on your chosen plan.

Deductible

$250, $300 and $500

Age Limits

Fetch doesn’t enforce upper age limits, so you can enroll your pet any time after it turns six weeks old. Some providers limit coverage for older pets to accident-only. Fetch doesn’t limit coverage by age so that you can get the right care for your buddy, no matter what.

Waiting Period

Fetch’s waiting periods are up to 15 days for accidents and illnesses and six months for orthopedic events.

Exclusions

Fetch won’t cover pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures, boarding costs, breeding costs, wellness care items, or accidents and illnesses that occur during waiting periods.
