Great Plan and Savings!!

My wife and I were originally skeptical of pet insurance, but Embrace came highly recommended by our vet. The customer service is wonderful and they are very helpful in explaining the process and what needs to happen in order for us to get reimbursed. Our puppy ran into issues with eating things he was not supposed to and we have saved hundreds of dollars on procedures that were covered! In all it's a great plan, especially with a puppy.

Embrace helps through tough times!

Last year, Sophie, my 6 year old Pomeranian started limping right before our big move from Texas to California. Stressed about the move and now worried about my fur-child, I knew Soph needed to be seen immediately! Her regular Vet ensured that it was a luxating patella, which is common in Pomeranians, but to keep an eye if the limping persists. Sure enough, as soon as we arrived to California, it had gotten to the point that Soph wasn't even using her left hind leg at all. I took her in for X-rays and next I'm scheduling Soph for surgery later that week. Everything had happened so fast! Four months post-surgery - Sophie was doing okay, but still not using her left hind leg. It broke my heart, I just wanted my fur-child back to her happy self. I had Soph taken in for Physical Therapy 2 times a week for 2 months. With a lot of time and a lot of patience, Soph is finally using her left hind leg now. It has been a long process, but I am thankful Sophie is doing better now. Thanks to Embrace, their insurance coverage has been able to make all of this possible for Sophie!

Good communication and a good result

My Golden Retriever became ill, vomiting and diarrhea - took her to our vet and they ended up keeping her overnight and giving her an I.V. My first submission for a claim was denied actually, but they explained what I needed to do to "appeal" the claim; that is, provide more information from the vet, which I did. Once I sent the additional required documentation, the claim was then approved and paid. So, at first I was dissapointed that the claim was denied but then they worked with me to turn it around. Thanks.

Excellent

Great service, claim paid in a timely manner. Should do away with the clinic stamp on claim form, and take the receipt showing proof of payment. Just a suggestion, but no complaints about the whole claims process.

Excellent experience

When I adopted my 4th rescue dog (an American bulldog), I decided to get pet insurance for the younger 2 in order to reduce my financial risk. Little did I know at the time what a fortunate decision that was. A few months after I adopted my bulldog & enrolled him with Embrace, he was diagnosed with a life-threatening autoimmune disease (Evans syndrome). He's had a total of 3 critical episodes with this disease and is on long-term maintenance treatment for it; he also needs monthly labs and other ongoing care. In addition, he needed cruciate ligament surgery at the end of last year. I call him my million dollar dog. I'd guesstimate that he's had a total of $15-20k in medical bills over the ~3 years he's been with me, and virtually all of that has been covered at 80% by Embrace per the plan. It has been an absolute blessing not having to worry so much about treatment cost in the midst of dealing with the emotional and logistical stress associated with his illness. I know more than a few people who've had to let their dogs go because they simply couldn't afford the care needed to treat the disease. Claims (and the pre-cert for his surgery) have been handled promptly; I don't think they've ever questioned a claim we've submitted (I do my best to make sure I give them complete info so there aren't any delays). There was one exception, which is the reason I gave them 9 stars instead of 10: when my dog was attacked by another dog, they ruled it a 'pre-existing condition' because it said in his shelter records that he'd gotten agitated when they tried to give him an intake medical exam (so the underwriter made "aggression" a pre-existing condition).. I thought that was beyond a stretch. But I won't complain too much about that, because they have done a lot of heavy lifting on his vet bills. When I first enrolled him, there was a $50k lifetime reimbursement limit, which I became concerned about (before all this happened, I never imagined that he'd ever approached that number). When I called last year to see what his total was to date, they told me the lifetime limit had actually been removed because they switched underwriters. How often does something like that happen with an insurance company?? Their customer service is also excellent.
