Best thing I could have done for my boxer boy

I purchased Embrace insurance the day after we adopted our baby boxer boy and it was the best thing I could have ever done for him. While he had an episode of pancreatitis that was not covered as it was within the two week waiting period, pretty much everything else he has been through has been covered. When you sign up, if you can afford too, go with the highest reimbursement rate you can get (90%) and purchase the medication plan. You will be surprised how expensive medications can be. If you pay annually you get a small discount and you will pay just one annual fee and then not worry about it the rest of the year. Every customer service representative has been great and the 90% I get back goes right into my back account. Some other plans don't cover exam fees but Embrace does so keep that in mind when looking at other plans and Embrace has an annual deduction, not a per-condition deduction like some other plans do. Keep these two things in mind and seriously consider purchasing Embrace!

Easy and Great!

The claim process is easy and Embrace is great to work with! My dog had TPLO surgery in December - she was actually just cleared for her orthopedic coverage four days before she injured her leg. For the surgery claim, they just needed to get her previous 12 months of vet notes to make sure it wasn't a pre-existing condition. They contacted her vet, I didn't have to. And they kept us informed every step of the process. Eight weeks later we had to go back for X-Rays to make sure her leg healed. I shot Embrace a quick email to see if it would be covered since it wasn't included in the previous claim. They wrote back within one day and said it would be. My vet submitted the claim and within ten days I had my check! I tell everyone about Embrace! I just dropped Banfield (thru Petsmart) and began using Embrace's wellness plan as well.

Who wants another monthly bill to pay?

I read all the reviews and contemplated pet insurance for over a year. I enrolled last July. My thinking was my two dogs are my family members and I would never consider going without medical insurance for my children or husband so why should my pets be any different? Embrace may be a slightly higher in price but definitely worth it. My six year old Rottweiler Lucy had a pre-existing orthopedic condition (2 torn Acl surgeries). In November she started limping. She was originally diagnosed with severe arthritis but her condition deteriorated so quickly I thought we might lose her. She was feverish, all joints swollen, not eating, lethargic, lost almost 20 lbs. Lucy had nine visits to vets and specialists in just 4 weeks. The bills were close to $3000. The final diagnosis was immune mediated polyarthritis caused by lymphoma -- the hidden primary condition causing the symptoms. Lucy's case is full of complications and not common. At the moment she is on prednisone and doing quite well. Chemo is not a good option for her but we are pursuing alternative treatments such as reiki and acupuncture. She is back to her happy playful self and we pray this continues for a good long time. Embrace initially denied Lucy's insurance claims. I was not surprised or discouraged due to her pre-existing condition and complicated diagnoses. I obtained a statement and medical records from Lucy's specialist and appealed. Embrace overturned their denial and paid $2500. They are also covering her monthly blood tests and acupuncture treatments. The claims process is quick and hassle free. If you are on the fence please do yourself a favor and insure your pets. Embrace is a competent and compassionate company.
