They do ANYTHING they can to say every illness is "pre-existing" -- crappy insurance

Signed up my dog in July 2018. Did not have a claim until November, when my dog was limping after being at the dog park. She is 10 but still very limber and active. Took until January before hearing back from the CSR that they wanted more doctor's notes even tho I was way past their "waiting" period. Sent in a year's worth of doctor's notes of vaccines and one previous visit for an ear infection. SUDDENLY they "excluded" pretty much every.little.thing my dog MIGHT have -- she had a little tarter on her teeth (SHE'S 10 for god's sakes!) so they eliminated ANY mouth or tooth or tongue related problems as "pre-existing" -- she was seen once in 2017 for a checkup that noted a slight amount of arthritis in a DIFFERENT leg - which was later discounted by a different vet as NOT being arthritis but they still made EVERY possible limb and back injury or ailment as "pre-existing". THEN because she had been seen for an ear infection in 2017, ALL dermatological problems are now "pre-existing"!!!! Crap company that does everything to NOT pay a claim. I would NEVER recommend them.

Great Insurance!!

I signed my dog up for the insurance in January. Not even a month later we had to take my dog to the vet for a mass on his paw. The vet had to surgically remove this. During all of the this, my dog was experiencing swelling in his throat. While the vet had my dog under he did a biopsy on the suspicious throat. It came back as cancer :( During all of this Embrace answered every question I had. They covered my expensive vet bill even though we had only been members for a little over a month. I really appreciate this great service. Thank you Embrace!!

Very pleased with our experience, no hidden gimmicks

Embrace Pet insurance has always worked with us, there are no hidden agendas or gimmicks. I have always been very happy with our claims and reimbursement rates.

Monthly Cost

$13 – $100, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 10%, 20% or 30% after your deductible, depending on your chosen plan. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $2000, $5000, $10,000 or $15,000.

Deductible

Annual deductible options from $100 – $1,000.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to enroll. New pets over 14 are eligible for accident-only coverage. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

There is a two-week illness waiting period, which begins on your policies’ effective date. Orthopedic conditions have additional Waiting or exclusion periods that vary by state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered if they have not been diagnosed or suspected before the policy becomes active. Main plan covers alternative treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic when provided by a licensed veterinarian. Optional wellness and prescription drug plans are available for an additional cost.
