Why didn't I get Insurance sooner

You don't realize you need insurance until something bad happens unexpectedly. That is what happened to our cats last year a week before our wedding. Having an extra $350 emergency vet visit before your wedding is the last thing you want. Then several months later a friend of our cat had to go to the doctor for x-rays and medication for back issues. Jacob and I looked at each other and realized we could no longer wait to get pet insurance. We are lucky enough to have USAA and be able to get embrace pet insurance by being members. The cost per month is worth it if it is going to cover an unexpected bill like our previous bill. If we had gotten pet insurance right away it would have taken us a year and a half to hit what we spent on our emergency pet visit for our cat. When our other cat started having seizures yesterday, I didn't have to worry about what tests the vet would want to run and how much it would cost, I knew I was covered by Embrace! They made the claim process so easy and were very understanding. Would highly recommend it!

Stay away!

Don’t choose this company, they will do everything they can and possible to deny your claim!!! Our 2 yr old cat got cancer and after much email and calling back and forth to figure out why the claim was taking so long they just wanted confirmation that we didn’t have our cat during a certain time period and he didn’t go to the vet during that time not that It affect our pet insurance. Then they now are saying a scar from a scratch he had gotten when he was 7 months old is a preexisting conditioning for cancer (lymphoma at that)

The best company for covering all your health needs for giant breeds

Embrace was recommended to me by fellow Newf owners. Giant breed dogs have many health issues which come at a tremendous expense, including the premiums for the insurance. I've been so thankful for the reimbursements at every turn of events during my dogs life and continue to feel the policy is worth every penny. I would recommend tagging on the Wellness package if you can afford the added expense. I do not have this and it would have been beneficial when he went on a prescription diet plan.

Monthly Cost

$13 – $100, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 10%, 20% or 30% after your deductible, depending on your chosen plan. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $2000, $5000, $10,000 or $15,000.

Deductible

Annual deductible options from $100 – $1,000.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to enroll. New pets over 14 are eligible for accident-only coverage. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

There is a two-week illness waiting period, which begins on your policies’ effective date. Orthopedic conditions have additional Waiting or exclusion periods that vary by state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered if they have not been diagnosed or suspected before the policy becomes active. Main plan covers alternative treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic when provided by a licensed veterinarian. Optional wellness and prescription drug plans are available for an additional cost.
Embrace Pet Insurance protects over 100,000 pets across the U.S. with nose-to-tail accident and illness protection. In addition to its pet insurance policy, Embrace offers a Wellness Rewards program to help cover the cost of routine veterinary care, grooming and training.
