Conniving and Dishonest just like all the others
Update (In response to Embrace's response): How is "vomiting" and "diarrhea" a pre-existing condition? Imagine if when you tried to get the health insurance they said "we see here that you've had ankle pain in the past and you've also vomited and had diarrhea. So anything related to your ankle or that involves vomiting or diarrhea is not covered." That doesn't make sense to anyone but pet insurance companies. Vomiting and diarrhea are symptoms, not conditions. Also, thank you for condescendingly pointing out that all of the information about pre-existing conditions was sent out in the terms and conditions. My point was that you never told me those cases applied to ME! You never said, we found these pre-existing conditions in your dog, just you know those won't be covered for a year. Unbelievable. Their response should tell you everything you need to know about the company. They are fraudulent, do not care or understand dogs or the difference between symptoms and conditions, and they will leave you stranded when you need them most.
After a little over a year of solid service from Embrace, I had the dreaded negative experience, everyone, with pet insurance fears when filing a claim. I submitted a claim for one of my dogs who was vomiting and having diarrhea. Easy day, I thought. Just as I was starting to realize that the claim was taking longer than it had in the past, I get CC'd in an email from Embrace to my vet asking for my dog's medical history over the last year. Confused about why that would influence the status of my claim, I call Embrace who then proceeds to tell me that my dog has "pre-existing conditions" on my policy. I ask the Embrace representative which policy document would have those pre-existing conditions listed to which she responded that I don't have access to the document that lists them and that I could online get them sent to me if I had known to ask for it. Complete scam. I had been trying to make myself feel better about paying more for Embrace than every other competitor because I thought when I needed them, they would be there. Turns out they are just as conniving and dishonest as some of the others seem to be. Do yourself a favor and either get a policy somewhere else where you can get more coverage for a lower price.
