How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Chartwell Veterinary Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.

Communication Preferences

Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.

Breed Specific Health Considerations

Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.

Great prices compared to other quotes we got for our cats neutering. Theyre also very honest with what you need for different operations. They we're very nice and checked up on our cat the next day to make sure he was still doing good

Professional yet caring and friendly staff from the front desk to the veterinary doctors and their assistants. It's well worth it for me to drive my cat there from downtown, because I know he'll be taken care of, not taken advantage of.

My dog has gone here since he was a pup and until the end. Over a decade of excellent care and service. Everyone one of the doctors and staff are amazing. Special thanks to Dr. Li and Linda for their compassion, patience and competence. Gizmo was well taken care of. It's always stressful and heartbreaking when your fur babies are sick and Chartwell Vet Clinic has always made the process as quick and seamless as possible.

The Chartwell veterinary clinic team are knowledgable, friendly and kind professionals with the biggest hearts. They are patient, caring and genuine. They provided top notch quality care and service for our dog for over 15 years. Thank you Dr. Li, Linda and the whole team for making difficult times easier. If I could, I would rate them 6/5 stars!!

My family ultimately had to change clinics for the poor care that our dog had been receiving for years. Our pup was neutered/had surgery despite having an active infection (one which the clinic knew about because that’s where she was receiving her antibiotics), and got a post-op complication of an infected wound needing an ICU stay for 4 days :( Even before this, staff were unfriendly to her during her treatments. We expected more compassion and better clinical judgement from the vet A response to the comment below: as it was a pre-existing infection, shouldn't the surgery have been delayed until the infection has been cleared? I am leaving this review now on behalf of my family as we are still quite scarred from this experience. The argumentative nature of your comment also doesn't help. Our dog was anxious at the clinic, but she also went through a lot and an anxious dog doesn't deserve worse treatment.
