How to Save on Veterinary Costs at VCA Canada Bayview Animal Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Great staff! Technician appointments are always great and on time. Every single time I've had to see an actual vet, I've had to wait a minimum of 30 mins later than my appointment time regardless of what time I make the appointment. Update: My last appointment with a vet on time.

VCA was great, walk in emergency vet appointment, was seen within an hour of arriving and given an Exam and options for treatment. All the staff was friendly and caring. Prices were very reasonable for emergency appointment. Would recommend anybody. Staff was friendly and accommodating and very knowledgable. 10/10 would recommend.

Highly disappointing experience for our dog and us as pet owners. Vet was aloof and did not make any effort to connect/interact with our dog (other than throwing treats at the ground/him). Vet and vet tech nervousness was felt by our dog making the interaction awkward. There was no dangerous or concerning behaviour demonstrated by our dog. Vet remained distant and non-interactive. Vet then refused service. Dog had done nothing. The next step was to tell us to drug our dog and to come back for another visit. We are done with this vet hospital. I am astounded by this vet experience (not the first time we have wondered about their approach and them telling us to drug our dog prior to vet visits). Our dog is big, yes, but friendly, gentle, lovable, walked and cared for by several dog walking services and people, he has never bitten, attacked people or dogs and he does not growl. He responds to a kind and happy voice and love. We are so very upset with this experience and the trauma these experiences (yearly visits) create for our dog (this is second year in a row we have had this kind of experience). We are done with the Bayview Animal Hospital for our dog.

My Westie Nellie tore her claw while running in the back yard. Her back paw started bleeding immediately. Took her to Bayview Animal Hospital and they were fully booked and short staffed that day. When they saw how much her paw was bleeding, the vet tech quickly bandaged up her paw while the receptionist fed me phone numbers of emergency vet clinics where i eventually found one who could see her. She is now bandaged up and recovering . Thanks so much to Bayview for being so incredibly kind!
