How to Save Money at Dr. Vetamin Veterinary Team- Urgent Care, Primary Care & Mobile Offices
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I really recommend Dr vetamin to any pet owner looking for a professional transparent veterinary service. From the reception staff to the Vet technicians and vets, they are all amazing. Our experience was great, we brought our cat who was suffering from urinary blockage Dr Nozari diagnosed the issue and arranged surgery straight away. The prosedure went well and the hospital stay and the post op care were all quite impressive. I had to bring my cat twice for minor issues both over weekends, each time they accepted to get my cat checked very quickly and treated us with patience and very professionaly, and last but not the least many thanks to Brandy in reception such a nice lady vey supportive and compassionate, like all the team. I cannot recommend these guys more. Many thanks to you all, from the bottom of our heart.

My kitty cat ivy and I had a wonderful experience with Dr vetamin and the amazing staff there! The technician and the vet were able to see her almost immediately and helped resolve the issue promptly! Everyone here is so kind and although people find it expensive that thankfully wasn't my experience and for it being urgent care I found it extremely affordable. All in all amazing experience for my kitty and I (even if ivy says otherwise) :)

Please do not listen to the negative comments! Some people expect way too much from vets and don’t consider people’s safety! We had an Incredible experience! We have a sweet but vet-anxious cat who doesn’t stop hissing during the appointment. Not only she was fairy calm but she had a pack of treats during the appointment. Dr. Nozari and his amazing vet tech went above and beyond to make this experience great. Definitely recommend.

Being involved in the animal industry in Ottawa since 2001, I was happy to see a locally (not VCA) owned 24/7 care clinic in the west end of Ottawa. My good friend raved about the service when they were strictly mobile. Now that the clinic is open they charge the same amount for exams as they do mobile. Being it's hard to get into a vet with a new patient and that they saw my cat for an emergency last month, I used there primary care service for my new puppy. I was told over the phone with a vet tech it was 235 as a base exam fee with the vet on zoom or 285 as a base if he came in the room. We went for my puppy's second set of shots were put in a room for 45 mins where the vet was not on zoom, he came in the room for 30 seconds max and left. Then a vet tech came in to vaccinate my puppy, using the wrong size needle for my two pound puppy. I was charged for the vet fee of 285 even though they had booked me under a tech appointment. They fixed the error in person however I strongly believe, although convenient, is not worth the EXTREMELY high primary care consultation charge. The appointment lasted over an hour for one shot with a 300 dollar bill. My cat spent 3 days at this hospital, the vet nor the techs asked me how he was when I brought my puppy in. This clinic is very clear this is about making money and not the health of animals. I would not return.
