How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Citigate Animal Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

They're nice enough, but they're not very good vets.. and the cash grab of constantly requesting a poop sample (that you never get the results after paying for such) is super pathetic. Even more pathetic than arguing with ex-patients in the reviews here. 2 dead cats and a sick dog later, and I have a bunch of medications that aren't doing anything, (they didn't even help his allergies & he's still scratching) have spent thousands of dollars, and my dog is still getting worse. I've given them so many chances, but I'm not going to watch another pet die because they just want to shove useless medications at me. They said my dog has kidney failure, didn't even check for an infection, and then gave us food supplements that literally did nothing. (Pretending he didn't get worse because of them, after talling me he got much worse, is one of the most idiotic things I've ever heard.) Their friendliness doesn't make up for their incompetence, bad client management, total lack of care of medications/vet foods they've prescribed, or repeatedly sending costly & totally pointless text messages. I've met homeless drug addicts who could manage a business better than this.

i started going here because they had the cheapest vaccinations and we had been lied to about our recent adoption having all her shots (we needed to start over). the hours are extremely limited, making it very inconvenient to get to the vets at all. more than once we would show up to pick up our pet's medication during business hours and no one was there. lights off, store closed. we called and they had the nerve to answer the phone and say they were open just not at the store....huh??? they knew we had to travel far for our pet's medication, and this problem still persisted. just update your hours and this wouldn't happen. it won't be my problem anymore as we'll never go back 👋

If I could give 0 stars I would. This place cares more about the money then your pet and I can guarantee that if you bring your pet here, be prepared to spend a minimum of 500.00. They barely looked at my dog and were able to prescribe all this medication which hasn't even worked. Brought my dog back today for 10 seconds and they think they have a cure but it would be at an additional cost. I call and leave voice-mails for no one to return my calls and when I am there the vet provides minimal information before he passes you to his reception team. DO NOOOOT COME HERE! I will be Taking my files elsewhere

Unfortunately I have to revise my review after being a client for years. Over the past several visits bringing my dog to the clinic we have not had a single diagnosis, but each time regardless of symptoms the treatment plan has been to draw blood ($100), run labs ($200) and then prescribe a $3 per pill antihistamine "Nadryl" aka diphenhydramine...which is chemically identical to Benadryl. Despite this Dr. Kamat insists we cannot give our dog Benadryl although it is universally considered safe and approved for dogs. It is a shame as Dr. Kamat seems like a nice enough person and is great with our dog, but consistently being price-gouged is a step too far. We have transferred our dog to another vet clinic and can no longer recommend this business to others.

We previously made a review and after speaking with the clinic realized miscommunication occurred. We would like to apologize and remove our old review. They do provide explanations for vaccines before proceeding. Like mentioned before, the staff are really nice and great environment. We were just concerned with no treatment plans, but they were provided before hand. Miscommunication happened on our part. Recommend this veterinary clinic. Thank you for helping us out.
