How to Save Money at James Snow Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.
How Do You Choose the Right Pet Insurance Provider?

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Excellent vet services. The Doctor is really nice and their prices are very reasonable unlike a lot of other places that are a rip off. You can see that the Doctor really cares about the animals. We always go here eventhough it is a little far from Oakville.

Highly unethical staff and doctor. Its 3 pm now Our dog is in so much pain and staff saying we are fully booked. Once I requested again she said will talk to him after hes back from lunch n let you know if we are able to or not sqeeze him in. People need doctor for urgent and emergency stuff and not for fun. The clinic is open until 7 pm bur she kept putting me on hold for long and then came up with same reply that they cannot accommodate n see him. All the other clinics we have been to whether for pets or people always accomodate the urgent ones. Highly disappointed and stressed due to unethical practice by this James Snow Animal Hospital

Don't waste your time and money, they read me another dogs blood results prior to spaying (confirmed by another clinic) Said my healthy year old puppy was anemic and unfit for surgery. This clinic is wildly incompetent.

I used James Snow Animal Hospital when my now 11 month old dog was a puppy for all his routine puppy vaccinations / check ups. Dr Judge was nice enough but when it came time to have him fixed they were out of my price range so I began looking elsewhere and ended up getting an appointment at one of the SPCA spay & neuter clinics about an hour away from home, my pup has always gotten extremely car sick & SPCA gave me the name of a safe anti nausea med for dogs that get motion sickness that can be taken before surgery & to just request from my vet ( SPCA also explained to me that this med was very affordable and should be no more then $10 per pill- i also confirmed this as I found the medication available on CHEWY for $40 for 8 doses ) I called to request this medication from Dr Judge, they got back to me and told me it would be $30 PER PILL so $60 for the two doses I required! I explained that I was told from SPCA & from my own online research that the medication should not be that expensive, the assistant I spoke with told me she would chat to Dr Judge about the cost & get back to me by the end of the day, but I NEVER even received a call back at all! Which almost sealed the deal for me that they seem greedy and not in practice for the right reasons. 2 wks following my pups surgery he managed to open up his wound on a Friday, and I called first thing to try and rush him in to have his wound looked at / closed back up, they didn't even make an effort to try and fit me in and left me in a very stressful situation with my pup. I ended up finding a wonderful vet in town who fixed my pup up right away, who was kind, knowledgeable and when I was sent home with 2 types of antibiotics ( 7 days worth ) & I paid less then James Snow wanted to charge me for only 2 anti nausea meds. That sealed the deal for me and I have chosen to stay with the vet that was willing to help my pup during our emergency. After reading so many reviews of similar experiences of being ignored and not being called back, and Dr Judge mis diagnosing pets with severe illnesses I am so glad I will no longer be trusting my dog in their care.

WORST VET CLINIC EVER!!!! Stay far far away .. This vet is very much pay to play .. most expensive and least knowledgeable vet I’ve ever been to, they charged 750$ just to give us a medication and then not even teach us how to use it or book a follow up or even give us any advice at all .. the medication he gave our dog induces mass vomiting and diarrhea and then he didn’t even tell us so we thought our dog took a turn for the worst ... they literally don’t care to help they’re simply there for the transaction you pay you get a test done that’s it .. if you’re looking for someone to actually care about your pet for a cheaper price go to literally any other vet Update : they basically messed around and wasted our time so bad that my dog didn’t get treatment and died .. then even worse they saw my review and when I went to pick my dogs ashes up they ambushed and harassed me about the review saying its unjustified I’ve been to 6 vets in my life and this is the WORST VET EVERRRRR
