How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Doon Animal Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Dr Chris and his team are so patient and caring. We have been to a couple of vets over the years as we have had all different types of animals our entire lives. Dr Chris and his team are the best by far. They take the time to explain things (and as often as you need to). The fact that they still have the same staff for many years now speaks volumes. Our dog has anxiety issues and Dr Chris is so calm and gentle with our dog. All of the techs are also very kind and you can tell they love animals. The fact that the location is close to us is an added bonus but I would travel as far as I had to in order to have our dog cared for by this team. Well done Doon Animal Hospital and thank you.

We’ve been bringing our corgi to Dr Chris since we first arrived in Canada during Covid. Dr Chris and the entire vet tech staff are so friendly and knowledgeable and we’ve been so happy with our experience, especially with a breed prone to some health issues. They’ve helped us thread the needs between being pro-active and making smart choices for our dog and even though we don’t live super close, we prefer to drive here because the care our dog gets is amazing.

my family took our family dog there, so when i got my boy i knew i had to continue to go here ! I have nothing but amazing things to say about the Techs and the Doctors. Dr. Haves and Dr Lichti are so kind, understanding and thorough in their work. i know having a german shepherd can be intimidating but kevin is well loved, i have zero issues leaving him in their hands! ill continue to go here until the very end. Thank you to everyone in all they do.
