Incredibly dedicated, friendly, and passionate staff! The initial evaluation and assessment of vitals is free. So if you’re unsure, bring your pet in and they take a look before you need to start thinking about any costs. They took incredible care of our boy and gave us great updates. They even accommodated us to visit him while he was in hospital.

Awesome experience here tonight. They were able to get us in right away when our cat decided to swallow a whole hair tie before we could get it out of his mouth. I was never more happy to see my cats vomit with hair tie in tow in my life. The staff here are all really awesome, very professional, friendly and relaxed. I’m so glad they saved our kitty from having more issues if he were to have fully digested it. He is now pleasantly sedated and hair tie free! Thank you from pippin and our fam! ♥️♥️

Our dog has received amazing service here. We moved from the mainland in September and knew we would need to find a neurologist as our dog had been put on steroids by a neurologist in Vancouver after a lengthy seizure 4 months prior and was now being weaned off. The neurologist at VCA gave our dog a thorough exam and read her file from Vancouver and agreed with the assessment of weaning her off. However, 2 weeks later, our dog became immobile. It was frightening and I thought she was paralyzed from the waist down. When we got to VCA, I was verging on a serious panic attack. The neurologist was technically done for the day but said she would take the time to see our dog. She said that our dog needed to immediately go back onto a steroid dosage everyday and they would give her one that evening intravenously in order for it to be fast acting. The following morning, we woke her up to see if she could walk and she could. I cried from relief. After being back on the full dosage for 2 weeks, she had another check up with the neurologist. They diagnosed her with an auto-immune disease. Again, I cried from relief. After not having answers for 6 months at this point and paying $10k + on the mainland for inconclusive tests, we finally know what is going on and how to manage it without giving her steroids that have poor long term effects. Outside of neurology, she is also seeing a rehab specialist at VCA as she has lost quite a lot of muscle mass from the steroids and has been highly inactive these last 6 months and their immeasurable support makes me truly believe that my 8 year old dog will have a long and fulfilling life. Thank you so much VCA and to all the staff that have helped us and our baby girl. Picture 1: Her home after the IV steroid. Picture 2: Her a few weeks later

Big Kudos and Appreciation for Dr Leger and team who cared for my girl Loki yesterday! The turkey decided to scale our fence after a deer (most likely) and got clipped by a moving car. Exposed bone on the back left leg. I was so impressed with the care we received. We (my other dog and I) were offered a private room and water while waiting for the vet upon assessment. I received a phone call several hours later to pick her up, and a text message today (within 24hrs) checking on her status. If only our human healthcare system was so caring!

I have mixed emotions about this place. First visit was great to get a foxtail stuck in my cat's eye out. Vet was knowledgeable, awesome and cost effective. It was treated with care and attention. Home care was also easy to follow. Second visit- not so great and after $1000 worth of tests no verdict yet they failed to properly examine my cat's mouth which had a mouth infection which was part of the problem. Told also possible renal disease start when there are 2 tests that can determine with 95% accuracy and wanting to run more tests. Vets need to realize not everyone has pet insurance and give options. Told go home try to get cat to gain weight and take to vet for more tests. Well I put him on renal food to no avail to then take to the vet to confirm as I suspected- he has dental- mouth issues which was causing him to not want to eat and be lethargic. The last report from here also on my cat is WRONG including with errors based on assumptions by their staff. So one great and thankful experience and one not great.
