How to Save Money at Triangle Mountain Veterinary Clinic

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Dr. Horace at Triangle Mountain Clinic is truly an exceptional veterinarian who goes above and beyond to prioritize your pet’s health and well-being. We brought our pup Dan Dan in for a routine check-up and vaccinations, and it turned out to be the most thorough and reassuring vet visit we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, Dr. Horace made us feel comfortable and welcomed. He took the time to ask detailed questions about our pup’s habits, history, diet, exercise routine, and overall behavior. It was clear he wasn’t just going through the motions—he genuinely wanted to get a full picture of our pet’s health and lifestyle to ensure no issues were overlooked. The examination itself was incredibly meticulous. Instead of a quick glance or a superficial check, Dr. Horace carefully examined every aspect of our pup’s health, from his teeth and ears to his heart and joints. He explained what he was doing at every step, sharing insights and tips to help us better care for our pet. What stood out the most was Dr. Horace’s compassion and dedication. It’s rare to find a vet who takes so much time and care with each patient, making sure all concerns are addressed without ever rushing. He even gave us helpful advice for long-term care and answered all our questions thoughtfully. This level of professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine care for animals is truly rare. We couldn’t be more impressed with Dr. Horace and the entire experience. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a vet who treats your pet like their own!

Dr. Yeung and his team were exceptional. Able to get us in for a same day appointment and we were met with so much kindness and love for our little Daisy every step of the way. They took the time to explain everything thoroughly and were so reassuring. I can’t thank the team enough, as it was a very stressful situation for us! Thank you so much!

Our 11 year old lab X became very ill. Our regular vet could not see her. We couldn't get in anywhere. It was recommended to us to try Triangle Mountain Vet as they had recently opened. They got us in by 11 that very day. It is impossible for me to express the kindness, compassion, empathy and honesty with which we were treated. Every single member of the staff was outstanding. The vet was very honest with us, did 2 ultrasounds in the room with us so we could understand exactly what was going on with our beloved Sophie. Sadly it was apparent that she would not make it. They made sure that we had the time and privacy to come to terms with what was about to happen. Treated our girl with such compassion and love that touched us deeply. We have 2 other dogs that will be seeing this vet from now on. If I could I would give this vet 10 out of 5 stars.

After recently having a terrible experience with our long-term clinic, we were hesitant to see a vet again. We decided to try triangle mountain vet clinic and we are beyond happy. Dr. Yeung fit us in last minute. He was fantastic. Pleasant, patient, and you could see the care and passion in what he does. We are thankful for the explanations and easiness. The front staff was lovely as well and the office is clean and bright. No longer do we feel uneasy about going to the vet..we'll be going to Dr. Yeung.

Dr Yeung is exceptional in his practice. He takes his time in our appointments, I have never felt rushed. He is so kind and sweet to my pets (it’s very obvious he actually cares about them). If anything is going on with them he always lays out all of the options and takes the time to educate me on each-which I appreciate very much. And he tends to lean towards more conservative measures if it’s possible. I have never been pressured or upsold on anything ever. The clinic is beautiful and the staff are so lovely as well. Absolutely 5 stars. This will be our clinic from now on.
