Helmcken fit me in as a new patient to say goodbye to my sweet cat Chai. We had never been there before, but we were so well taken care of. Dr. Heath was so kind and reassuring, and we were treated with so much dignity and sympathy. It was a bittersweet visit, but I’m so glad Chai was in good hands. The ending was peaceful, and the staff was so extra sweet and kind when I came to pick up his ashes. They even sent me a very kind sympathy card, even though we only that one time. These are good folks- you’ll be in good hands here. ❤️

If you are looking for a reptile vet you can’t do better than Dr Kwan. My 23-year-old leopard gecko recently suffered an eye injury and infection. This wasn’t our first visit to Helmcken Veterinary Clinic (a few years ago he had appetite issues, and at another point he had a prolapse following a bad shed). Dr Kwan is always so gentle with him, and he’s remarkably calm with her considering that he only ever sees her when he’s in distress. Dr Kwan confirmed my observations that his eye was cloudy and appeared flat/deflated, and he was keeping it closed much of the time (I’m a licensed optician working closely with optometrists so I had some idea what was I was seeing even though gecko eyes and human ones are quite different). She prescribed an antibiotic ointment and his eye healed nicely — but because he won’t stop licking his eyes he transferred the infection to the other one, which I still had plenty of ointment for and which is nearly cleared up now. I can’t thank Dr Kwan and her staff enough — it can be stressful caring for a senior gecko, and their knowledge and compassion are very reassuring 💙

Awesome staff. Tried to help squeeze my cat (not a patient of theirs) in at the last minute before I decided to go to emergency. Pretty sure the tech I spoke to was Laura? Either way, outstanding client care and I will forever appreciate the way they helped me navigate my cats illness.

I really love the care my two dogs receive here. The front staff are always extremely friendly and my dogs adore them. The vet is always willing to answer any questions I have and ensure I understand what's going on and why. I've been coming here since I got each of my dogs and will continue to.

Very happy with making the switch to Helmcken Vet Clinic. Their staff are very courteous and knowledgeable. They even gave me a follow up call to check on how my cat was doing a few days after his visit. :)
