How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Abbotsford Veterinary Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

The absolute, bar none, worst place and experience I have ever had. My dog was running slightly toxic for something he got into ???? So i took him in. The doctor was yelling at me that my dog needed a drug test ( for cocaine, methamphetamine, opiods, and benzos. There are no drugs on my premises), he yelled that he needed to induce vomiting so the drugs aren't sitting in "my babies" tummy. He wanted to administer charcoal, draw urine from a catheter, and the list goes on. He quoted me $2200.00, when I wanted a simple flush, period. There was another charge for medicine in the flushing solution which was also not necessary. I declined everything but the flush. He still charged me $1002.00. When I picked my dog up in the morning he was still screaming at me that "my baby" still needs a drug test. I told him to use his inside voice and left. Horrible place.

I've dealt with this veterinary clinic twice now, and both times they have treated our goats exceptionally well. Gentle handling, a very clear apprieciation and respect for our animals and farm, competent and effective treatments. One of our girls was injured and needed stitches to her leg, and was very stressed because she was in so much pain, but as soon as the vet began to handle her she calmed right down. Goats are NOT known for being docile and agreeable when they're upset, but they were still handled patiently and with care. When vets are already in such high demand and short quantity, it's a huge relief to have a dependable clinic nearby.

Have worked with multiple vets from this clinic for numerous years. Very helpful in answering questions about herd health and have had good experiences when they come out for on-farm calls or emergencies. Definitely saved many of our animals with their expertise.

Dr. Taylor is fabulous with our dogs! I was worried our one dog wouldn't allow the vet to even get near him since he doesn't like strangers at all, but Dr. Taylor knew exactly what to say and do and at just the right times. He made the whole thing a very pleasant experience for our dog, and even earned a couple of doggie kisses by the end! Both our dogs love going here and the vet always takes the time to give lots of extra information and ask if we have any questions or concerns about anything. I've been taking my dogs here for about 2 years after having a less-than-caring experience at a different vet and deciding to switch. It's so refreshing to see that Dr. Taylor really cares about the animals.
