How to Save Money at Furever Friends Veterinary Services Inc.
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
It’s never easy to find the right words when it comes to saying goodbye to a beloved pet, but I feel compelled to share our experience. Carol was a true beacon of compassion, love, and kindness during one of the hardest moments in our lives. She took an incredibly difficult situation and made it a bit more bearable. From our very first contact to the final farewell, she handled everything with such grace, allowing us the time and space to focus on our goodbyes. Carol, you are an angel, and we are beyond grateful that we entrusted you with our precious pet's final journey.

My vet contacted Carol on my behalf, and she and Samantha were able to come that same day to help me say goodbye to my 15 year old cat, Ray. They asked me if I wanted to keep the patch of hair they shaved from his arm for the iv and I wouldn't have even thought to ask for it. Because of the postal strike and not being sure if it would be lost, Carol drove Ray's ink prints and ashes to my house after hours. Just an absolute gem of a person.

Thank you so much to Carol for her kindness, compassion, and professionalism. Given the circumstances, this was the best possible experience. We said goodbye to our 19 year old pal Gato in August. There were 4 of us present including Carol. I was so impressed by how she was able to connect with each person's unique way of coping with the day, and her attention to detail was remarkable. When the time comes for any future pets I will absolutely be reaching out to Dr. Carol Black.

I had to say goodbye to my special little guy. I did an at home euthanasia that was facilitated by Carol. Carol was excellent throughout the entire process. It showed that they care about the animals and their owners. Quick to reply to questions and get back to me about things. I can't highly recommend enough.

Dr. Carol Black and her assistant came to my home Thursday March 27th to euthanize my thirteen year old shihtzu mix Toby. I chose to use this veterinarian because of all the at home euthanasia services I contacted, only this one asked why I had decided it was time to let my fur baby pass. They were very professional in respecting how my family had chosen to memorialize Toby and didn't try to upsell. The day of the appointment Dr. Black let me know they were running ten minutes behind instead of leaving us to wonder. The entire process was handled respectfully and my family was given the time we needed to mourn and process what was happening. We felt heard and sympathized with as we shared memories. We were given time alone with the body once Toby had passed on. They brought a basket, blanket, and pillow for Toby's body to rest in while transported for cremation. We were able to send his bed and favourite toy with him. We were shown pictures of where his ashes would be spread. In the emotions of everything we forgot to remove his collar and tags. Dr. Carol drive back across the city to deliver them to us. I am extremely grateful for respect my dear Toby and my were given.
