Very Impressed
Very impressed with MetLife Pet Insurance! We initially found them through the rescue we adopted our pups from, as the adoption included a complimentary month of coverage. After that experience, we decided to enroll both of our dogs—and we’re so glad we did. MetLife has been consistently quick to respond, and their app makes submitting claims incredibly simple. Each claim is reviewed promptly, and the Explanation of Benefits is always clear and thorough. When a claim is approved, reimbursement is fast, with payments directly deposited into our account without hassle. Any time we’ve had questions, their customer service team has been easy to reach and extremely helpful. Every representative we’ve spoken with has addressed our concerns efficiently and professionally. Overall, they’ve exceeded our expectations in every way. Highly recommend!

Exceptionally quick payment!
Our 20 month old rescue required emergency surgery on a holiday in Canada. When all was said and done the final bill was almost $11,000.00! Furkin paid out promptly and turned what could have been a catastrophe into a something more manageable. I have never had insurance prior to this and I am so glad I did this time.
Not the same company anymore
I’ve had my pets insured with Pets Plus Us since 2013. In fact, I used to work at PPU for the first few years they were in business. Even after I left the company for personal reasons, I still continued to recommend them. Now, in 2026, with pet 3 and 4 insured with them and the company has changed hands I can tell they are not the same company anymore - for the worse. They do not underwrite policies upfront anymore and now I can not make the same changes to my policies as I did with pet 1 and 2. Very disappointing to see that a company that was far and above a great pet insurance company is now turning into every other insurance company..

CAUTION ⚠️ When I got fetch for my Bulldog in 2017 it was about $90 per month. Unlimited coverage, 90% co pay and $400 deductible. The following year my monthly rate went up by almost a hundred dollars. I called and asked why and they said it was in the fine print. They have the right to increase premiums as they see fit. At this point she had pre existing conditions so to get another insurance was not really ideal. I continued my insurance with fetch for a few more years. Each year it would increase by nearly a $100 a month. Long story short by the time she was 7 they were asking for $500 a month, lowered her annual coverage from unlimited to $15,000 and changed the copay to 80%. deductible remained $400. I canceled it that year I’d rather swipe my credit card the make the monthly payments to AMEX at least I get aeroplane points. Such scammers. Side note they did cover every claim I submitted but at what cost. $6000 a year plus $400 deductible…..for 15 grand in coverage and your still paying 20% of the bill.

They'll take your $$..won't give it back
After 2 years of handing PetsPlusUs our monthly fees and not making 1 claim i decided to cancel the policy ( I'll bank $155/month myself) .Policy was cancelled Feb 7th...today is April 13th and I've yet to receive my premium refund seeing i cancelled 2 days after they took out their money from my bank. I had to email them first time in March- i was informed cheque was in the mail. Screw the 14 business day crap they tell you ...its been over 40 now!! Pet insurance is the biggest scam ever!! I wouldn't touch PetsPlusUs even if it was free. If I could give them less than 1 star I would!!!! Horrible company!!!!
