Transparent and trustworthy company
All of my claims have been completed in a timely manner. Even when they claim is not covered, you lay out the information and everything is broken down and transparent. Thank you for being a trustworthy company.

Great service at a great cost
Not bad but not good either. With all their great features, they fail to mention the big downside... price increases. I had healthy paws for four years and was very happy with the service and features. But the price increases were NUTS. I started with a policy for one dog and one cat, both healthy and young. Was paying about $130 per month total. Within four years, that went to $290 per month with no claims. The average increase was $40 a year. After I seen this I started wondering, how long are they going to do this? ? Based on the increases, within a few years, pet insurance will cost more than my own health insurance. Maybe even more than my mortgage after 5 years. Healthy Paws is a lot like Verizon. You get the best service, but at a cost only the rich can afford.

Healthy Paws - best policy for dog owners!
I would highly recommend Healthy Paws to any pet owner. It is a crystal clear policy where you know what is covered and not. Most recently, my pup Miles was diagnosed with a malignant mast cell tumor on his left hind leg. As you can imagine there was cytology, ultrasounds, meds...and then an amputation to ensure a best outcome for his future. From filing claims to providing medical records to status updates, Healthy Paws provided top-notch customer service - and beyond. Tyson + Wagner inquired about Miles and asked how he was doing. As a customer of more than 5 years, I can say that it's a great company who cares about your furry loved ones.

Any possible rationale is a great reason to deny a claim
It's coming up on a year of having Pets Best coverage for our dogs and we will not be renewing. Pets Best seems to delight in going out of their way to deny claims for the absolute flimsiest reasons. It's basically impossible to appeal their wild logic. For example, claims have been denied for "lack of detail" even when the veterinary surgery has forwarded them copious notes. They also seem to regard any prior condition as a reason to deny a claim, for example one dog has a few allergies that he receives medication for, but one day he developed a massive, infected, sudden and emergent rash on his tummy, which was clearly not related to his digestive allergies. Claim denied. Overall, we don't submit many claims but right now on the small number we have submitted -- for treatment that SHOULD be covered -- about 3/4 of them are denied for some spurious reason or another.
