Outrageous price increases
I signed both of my dogs up for healthy paws in 2015 and 2016. When first enrolled the insurance was around 100 per month for both of my pets. I understand prices need to be increased each year. However for my 2 dogs I am now paying 303 a month and they say claims do not increase based off of your pets claims. Unfortunately both of my dogs have had some health issues over the last few years which resulted in quite a few vet visits. Multiple times claims had been denied or not paid as they marked it as preventative care. I'm sorry but what dog normally gets bloodwork done multiple times a year that would be preventative. My vet has even sent forms in from visits to show that it was not a wellness checkup. Paying over 4000 a year with my deductible seems a little outrageous and who can really afford this? From what I have noticed is your insurance will stay lower as long as you don't put many claims in on your pets.

My German Shepherd’s injury
My German Shepherd fell causing an injury to his discs in his back, this lead to surgery and the removal of three discs. This type of injury requires a neurosurgeon we used Dr. C. Jurney she’s terrific. This type of surgery is on the expense side and I’m so glad we have Healthy Paws Insurance. We filed the claim and they took care of it within a week. I call that excellent service they even emailed me to see how Grizz was doing.

I previously gave sonnet a five star…
I previously gave sonnet a five star rating. Wish I had not. I now give it a zero. Once you are a loyal customer they fleece you. Your rates go up yearly. Even when you have never made a claim. They think since you are a customer, you won’t take the time o research other companies, so they increase your rates. I will not and would not ever patronize this company again. By taking five minutes, I contacted other insurance companies and had a much lower quote. So I will not recommend Sonnet. They are a one trick pony. I have been with them for several years and will not ever give them my business again. Be aware of how on line insurance companies work. They are unscrupulous. Most companies give you a preferred rate for being a loyal customer. Not sonnet. If you are a loyal customer, never make a claim, your rates increase. Please look elsewhere for insurance.

Trupanion is Super!
Our breeder gave us one free month of Trupanion insurance. Having her recommend them was an excellent reference. Well, she was absolutely correct. Trupanion has great customer service. Their representatives are always so kind, understanding, and helpful. They are a great company.

NOT HAPPY WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE
I am sure the insurance itself is a good one, as I have never even had the chance to use it once I applied for it. However, I am not happy with the customer service aspect of your company as I cancelled my claim on August 30, 2021, and found that money had been REMOVED from my September 3, 2021 paycheck AFTER the cancellation of my policies. ASPCA owes me $178.92 for claims that had been cancelled and took the money out of my new month check without permission.

Great company.
I have recommended Trupanion again and again to all my friends. This company is AMAZING! My dog was diagnosed with diabetes and Trupanion covers the cost of the meds within DAYS of my submitting the charges. They r always helpful on the phone. Always friendly and professional. This is a wonderful company. They get my highest recommendation.

Quick wellness claims but delayed medical and illness claims
They have good knowledgeable customer service. Call take time usually I have to stay on the phone for a while before reaching someone, I often try both, online chat and the call and try my chances. You have to pay upfront and then wait for the claims to be processed at times 30 days+. Wellness claims process quick. Overall it is ok… just wished the claims would not take that long considering I have to pay upfront and have a zero balance in order to process the claim. I would also appreciate that the copay would be based on a percentage and not an amount we are meant to reach on a yearly basis… before we start seeing some money back.
