My cat is alive and purring beside me…
My cat is alive and purring beside me today because I have Trupanion insurance. This allows me to take her to the vet for regular treatments to manage her chronic pancreatitis, keeping her stable and out of pain. With no insurance, I would have had to make a very painful decision.

I will no longer recommend Trupanion
I have been with Trupanion for about 6 years and I really used to like them and would always recommend them when people asked who I use. My dog has a low functioning thyroid and because of that is on medicine and needs an injection once every three months for the past couple of years. Now all of a sudden they have decided that the injection is for allergies instead of the thyroid even though she has never been diagnosed with allergies and this is a new illness and as such I have to pay the $500 deductible (again) before it's covered. In order to appeal this I have to waste my time and my vets time trying to prove it's related to the thyroid and it will probably be denied anyway based on what I'm reading in other reviews.

Truepanion claims that 50% of…
Truepanion claims that 50% of prescribed pet food is eligible for coverage. But they only pay 45%. They do this by stating that they pay 90% of claims and somehow they consider their percentage of their share to be a claim That is not a claim. That is a percentage. They also say that eligible amount and payout amount is not the same thing. By definition, eligible means that it is eligible for payment. If eligible amount is a different thing than what they pay out how is that amount eligible for payment? The answer is that it is not and it is deceptive advertising.

The Spot Pet company was very helpful…
The Spot Pet company was very helpful in the needs I had to insure my dog. The representative was very knowledgeable and caring. Unfortunately my puppy passed away not long after. I called to cancel my policy and had no problem doing so. I received a call of sympathy a day after from them. I picked the right company for my insurance needs and will choose them again.
