I found the site very easy to navigate and the response to get a quote was immediate. I also liked the comparison chart. I have also received a follow-up call welcoming me as well as an email with pertinent details. I appreciate all the customer service details.

Had to appeal but they came through
They denied my initial claim based on diarrhea being an existing condition which was pretty annoying (since that's a symptom for many things). I had taken my puppy to the vet the first weekend I had him for diarrhea likely caused by the stress of leaving his mom and littermates. Anyhow, my second claim did have diarrhea as a reason I went in but the cause we something completely different and life-threatening. So I was annoyed they denied my claim outright initally—it was jarring. But after my vet followed up with a more detailed explanation of the situation Trupanion paid the claim. So I'm happy that they paid and the review process wasn't especially difficult or time-consuming. It's a bit of a drag I had to appeal though. But, again, ultimately they came through. And the amount paid wasn't trivial.

It was quick and easy to sign up for pet Insurance. The rates are very reasonable, and its nice that you can choose full coverage or accident only. The web-site was very user friendly.

Don’t waste your money
I’ve never written a bad review, but I had to with this one. They called an ear infection a “pre existing condition” and wouldn’t even allow it to go to deductible. Don’t waste your money on this. Think I’m going to instead just set aside my monthly payment to savings vs pay a company who won’t reimburse my pet medical bills

Trupanion Is Amazing
My cat had to get emergency surgery for eating foreign material that got stuck in his small intestine. Trupanion was able to get me pre-approved for the procedure and took any anxiety I had about how I was going to pay this off my chest. They’ll one of the best pet insurances, in my opinion. I already recommended all my friends and family who do not have pet insurance to check them out.
