It took over two months to process two claims (because my vet wouldn't send Trupanion the veterinarian's examination notes) only for me to find out that Trupanion doesn't cover examination fees.
It took over two months to process two claims (because my vet wouldn't send Trupanion the veterinarian's examination notes), only for me to find out that Trupanion doesn't cover examination fees. It's ridiculous for me at this point to pay over $60 a month for Trupanion to hardly cover any of the general veterinary costs. I understand that it's to have a piece of mind if something terrible were to happen to my dog, but he is elderly and has some regular and consistent issues that can't/won't be covered by my plan because of the rules Trupanion has set in place. I really wish I had known about Trupanion earlier because then maybe I would be able to actually get money back (or at least more put towards the deductible) instead of Trupanion cherry-picking what they're actually covering. Very frustrating and unfortunate.

I really like your service, and if anything "big" comes up someday (heaven forbid), things will probably work out. My beef with you guys is not covering a previous condition. I discovered you guys on the day my cat needed his first ear cleaning with me as owner. So, I signed up with you after that appt. Now, I mean, what was I supposed to do - refuse getting my cat's ears cleaned, go home, and sign up with you first? Kind of stupid don't you think? So, once a quarter, I have to pay $125 out of pocket because you won't cover it. And, I live SS check to SS check. That means, a week of no food for me. Pretty sad on your side.
