Competitive pricing for accident in illness
Well I have not yet used this pet insurance, I did want to point out that while their accident and illness insurance is very competitive their wellness insurance is not. They want to charge you pretty much close to as much as you pay a month for the actual accident and illness insurance for only a small annual amount.

Everyone should have Trupanion!
We received a free month of Trupanion from the Humane Society when we adopted our kitty. I actually thought about cancelling. So glad I didn't! Spent the last couple of days/night at the emergency vet hospital with a possibly serious illness. Mozart is stabilized, but the other great part is that 90% of the quite high bill was covered, and within 24 hours! When you have a sick pet, what a relief and blessing to know that the cost of giving your pet the best care doesn't have to weigh on your mind. I will be recommending pet insurance, and Trupanion specifically, to everyone!

In all their commercials
In all their commercials, they are saying that older dog or not penalized of being old. I am sorry but, when my 12 years old mix breed cost 350$ a month and my puppy pure breed which are way more sick than mix breed is 74$ a months, so yes my old dog is penalized for her age.

Rip Off
I spent the last 12, 11, and 2 years paying insurance premiums to Trupanion and when it came time to use them, I got lip service. My little mutlipoo has a spinal issue. They were fine covering everything during the $1,000/life issue deductible, but as soon as we went over...it wasn't covered. Instead of opting for the spinal surgery and MRI that would have run close to $10K, my vet wanted to try laser therapy. Apparently there was a rider they posted to their website that would exclude certain options for recovery...I was so angry I cancelled all 3 policies. They get you to a point where you keep paying thinking that someday you may need them, and when you do...make sure you have another savings account ready, because this company does not stand behind their customers or pets as they claim.

Don’t be deceived by their great ratings, I was…
I have had and still have an ASPCA pet insurance policy since 2021. I have attempted to file several claims for my puppy French Bulldog throughout the last year, and this company has paid only 1, $20 claim to reimburse the microchipping. Every claim was denied under the excuse of “pre-existing condition”. I bought the insurance 2 months after owning my dog (but before his airway issues were diagnosed). The policy claims they will pay for congenital or breed known issues. Ha! Lie! After my experience, I’m thinking unless you buy a policy BEFORE you own the dog, or by the 1st day you own the dog, they can claim “pre-existing conditions”. Furthermore, I started with a premium of $45, and the same coverage increased to $65 in the course of a year. Oh and after paying a couple thousand in medical bills, (gastrointestinal issues, and an orthopedics evaluation) none of that qualified to be applied towards the $500 deductible! Such a scam! Racket. This company gets excellent ratings all over the internet. It looks good on the surface, but my real life experience tells me otherwise. I will be cancelling this policy at the renewal.

Just a terrible experience all around
Just a terrible experience all around. First they had issues on their payment processing side saying my card submitted for payment wasn't working or some such nonsense when I had used that very card before that transaction and afterward and I never received a notification that a payer was trying to submit with it (as is typical). So their issue. And seperately when I asked their text rep a question about coverage for a stomach tacking, if that's covered she basically didn't know and gave me a 'maybe'. Horrific. You know the saying, you never get another chance to make a first impression. Just horrible.
