Very Satisfied
I have been with ASPCA Pet Health Insurance for almost 5 years, and I am happy with both the cost and coverage. I file my claims online, and on the one occasion I called customer service, the person who assisted me was very courteous and helpful. Every now and then a claim takes a while to process, but I understand that claims are in queue and processed as soon as possible. (My last preventative care claim only took a few days to process.)

Passion for pets and what people need to care for them
I appreciate the focus on the consumer experience. The passion for animals and what people need to take care of their beloved fur babies really shines through. The competitive rates and unlimited coverage give me great relief. I just wish the reimbursement system were more modern to speed up the process and reduce stress. I hope to see a direct deposit or electronic payment soon, instead of a check by mail.

Bad for big claims, good for small.
I have submitted smaller claims before, under $350, with no problems. The process was easy and I was reimbursed in a good time-frame. It wasn't until I submitted for something larger that they broke out previously unknown policy terms to deny my claim. I was misled and told that I can submit claims for anything within the policy year and this was a very nasty surprise. At the end of the day, it is my fault for trusting the customer assistance and information I was given when I first contacted them when I was still shopping around for the best options for my new puppy. I'm really not surprised that an insurance company lied to get business. I probably still have the spreadsheet I made comparing 6+ pet insurance companies that include notes from actually contacting them for policy details. Save your money and go elsewhere. We got pet insurance in the first place to cover higher bills but they seem unwilling to actually reimburse. My dog now has something that might qualify as a pre-existing condition so we wouldn't be able to even switch providers. Don't let yourself get trapped with this company like we did. I also found it extremely distasteful that while they provide you text and email updates on your claim progress, including notifications if it's approved, you don't get any notification of your claim being denied. I strongly suspect that it's because they hope you forget about it until you fall outside of the claim period (which is 90 days, and confusingly not the policy year). The customer service is unhelpful and unwilling. If your claim gets denied, be prepared to receive no good-faith assistance. It doesn't matter how nice the app is and don't be fooled by how professional they look. Please, please, please, don't get Fetch by The Dodo. Edit 01/8/2022 Fetch has confirmed the validity of my review and I, once again, encourage pet parents to go elsewhere for their insurance. My claim was under $700 which is a drop in the bucket compared to how expensive it can be when things go really wrong. I'll be contacting the provided help email and I'll be happy to revise my review if my *only* large claim gets approved in the spirit of staying true to what one of their customer service agents told me to get me to get me to sign up with their company in the first place.

Company that cares about your pet…
I’ve been with Healthy Paws for over 2 years. Claim submissions are fast and easy. Recently our Homer boy had to have life saving surgery to address his breathing issues, the cost was close to $7K. Any questions I had regarding my policy was addressed with a quick call to a friendly customer rep. After surgery I submitted my claim and within days I was reimbursed 80% of Homer’s surgery. Healthy Paws was even kind enough to check on Homer and his recovery. Great customer service by people who really care about your pets. This surgery would not have been possible without pet insurance. Thank you Healthy Paws!
