We've been with Pets Best for 11 years
We've been with Pets Best for 11 years, what we didn't know as dogs age the rates got up dramatically. Processing claims sometimes takes weeks. I decreased my 10-year-old Yorkie's coverage just recently from the premium level to the next level down, the premiums were just adjusted for the next year, the rate is now more than what I was paying for the premium level I had. Very frustrating for the economic times many are going through right now. We have two Yorkie's, both insured ages from 2 years to 10 years old. I'm considering cancelling the insurance on both !

I like Pets Best and I think they have…
I like Pets Best and I think they have good coverage and are cheaper than other services. My beef with them is over the dental plan. I need to put my dog under anesthesia every year to receive care, even if they have perfect teeth and don’t need dental cleanings. I think it should be up to the veterinarian to determine when my dog needs their teeth cleaned and how often, not an insurance company. There is a risk with putting dogs under, and if they don’t need it they should not be subjected to unnecessary procedures.

Trupanion always helpful in caring
Whenever I talk to trupanion they are always very caring and helpful when my dog hurt is leg the surgery was 6 grand and trupanion took care of it otherwise I would have never been able to afford that at the time highly recommend trupanion.

Claims process has gotten horrible
I used to love healthy paws but recently they've been horrible with claims processing. I used the app recently and a claim sat there with nothing being done for 8 days only showed submitted. The rep on the phone blamed the app so I submitted via email and it's now day 3 and nothing has been done with my claims. I'm only told they are sitting in a queue and will be handled eventually. Still not assigned to a claims adjuster. Absolutely ridiculous! I'm backlogged over $2000 in claims that I can't submit because they sit there and are done in order and as of now they aren't even processing the 2 I just submitted. Also the management team will now only email you and do not directly reply to your questions. Instead you get form responses. Multiple representatives and the manager that emailed me used the same exact phrasing (form response). The management team member never even directly answered the question I have so they don’t even edit the form letter response at all except to change your name and the management persons name. The quality of their company is definitely declining now. Go with a different company. Unfortunately because my dogs have chronic conditions I'm stuck with this company now.
