Healthy Paws Genuinely Cares

Our 1 year old cat was having urinary issues and eventually was hospitalized because of it. It was really tough having him in the hospital for so long; our family wasn't whole! While dealing with the particulars for our claim, we received a separate email from Healthy Paws asking how our cat was doing. There was no business, no requests for additional documentation, just a check-in to make sure we're doing okay and that our cat was doing okay. I was shocked to receive an email like that! Shocked, but also knew we were in good hands with this insurance company. It's so stressful seeing these unexpected bills piling up and not knowing if we'll receive any money back, but also knowing we would pay whatever we need to in order to make sure our kitty is happy and healthy. I work in the insurance industry (homeowner's claims) so I'm somewhat jaded when it comes to insurance claims, coverage, etc. and I'm so happy to have had a good experience with Healthy Paws and the overall coverage they've provided. They are sincere and genuinely care. Thank you!

I moved my auto insurance after 30+ years with another company. After 3 months with sonnet my insurance was cancelled and I was not allowed to rectify the situation. My cc was stolen and I made an honest mistake updating my payment terms.

Great customer service!

While I haven't submitted a claim yet, the signup process was simple and when my credit card on file was compromised (elsewhere) the day of my monthly payment, PHI called to check in and ensured I had no problem changing to a new card, once it arrived, without losing coverage. I hope to never make a claim, but if I need to, I am confident the care and attention to detail from their support team will make it a seamless experience while allowing my family to focus on what's most important in that moment - the health of our pets.

First time using Trupanion..

This is my first time ever having pet insurance. When I called the other day to transfer veterinarians on my plan. The lady was very helpful and also explained to me how to do a claim on my account. She explained how it would work and when to expect my reimbursement. So far I love Trupanion.

I signed up and paid for a new Spot…and added Wellness coverage but was declined for a gift card.

I signed up and paid for a new Spot only coverage for a puppy. Then I received 15 marketing emails telling me to get coverage for all of their available plans including Wellness coverage. In each of the emails, a $25 Amazon gift certificate was mentioned for each new subscriber. Since I had signed up online, I was eligible for the $25 gift certificate. After consideration, I called Spot’s customer service to add the Wellness coverage since I read the marketing emails that were sent daily and I thought it made sense to add this coverage. I was told by the agent that I was not allowed to add this coverage to my original policy and that she had to cancel it and start all over. I agreed since she was going to add the Wellness only policy first which took effect the next day, and then add the Spot coverage which was delayed another two weeks before taking effect. I then asked if I was still qualified for the $25 Amazon certificate and was told No since you had to buy the two plans online at the same time! By the way, you couldn’t add the Wellness plan online after the fact and had to call it in. So I ended up canceling everything and going elsewhere for coverage.

I would not recommend Trupanion

I would not recommend Trupanion, the biggest reason, they will increase your rates every year!! I have taken all my pets but 1 at this point to other pet insurance. The one I have is still here for pre-existing condition. I have been nickeled and dime with claims. I had a dog who was brought to the vet for an emergency, they could not hold him over night (no overnight care) until I could transfer him to the appropriate vet the next day and I was charge a co-pay AGAIN for the transfer to the ER for overnight care for them to "continue care". Then another co-pay once transferred to the specialist. I can understand the specialist but the continued care should have been covered. No further testing was done other then to continue to monitor his vitals. Like I said they will nickel and dime you to the end!!!!

A little false advertising on their…

A little false advertising on their part, on their website, they claim basically everything is covered, except for wellness, but when your dog gets sick and the vet has to examine the dog before providing treatment, they fail to pay for exam fees. What, did you expect for a sick visit that the vet examines the dog free of charge? This isn't a wellness visit, and exam fees aren't something we plan to spend. Yeah, I can budget for wellness exams. I can't budget for sick exams, because I don't know if and when my dog will get sick. This is such a terrible policy. Watch, someone from Trupanion is going to disrespect me by writing a form response to this message stating that in the fine print of the policy that nobody reads that they don't cover exam fees, but none of that is in the colorful marketing materials they advertise. That's just plain deception. To add insult to injury, after a fake apology, they add "Please call us at (855)210-8746." FOR WHAT‽ For you to tell me again that you don't cover exam fees for a sick visit? No, I don't want to call you. I want you to change your asinine policy to cover exam fees. Don't apologize if you have no intention whatsoever of changing.

Healthy Paws is the gold standard.

Healthy Paws is a reasonably priced health insurance for your furry friend. The monthly cost and deductible are very affordable. The staff genuinely seems to care for my dog and his well being. The claims are so fast and easy to complete. My dog has had the worst luck and I'm so glad Healthy Paws was there for us!
